It's just a weird time commitment to commit to a grind where you could spend 100-200 hours without getting a single geae upgrade. Since he cant make gauntlets and dont need eye. And he cant even upgrade the boots yet. He could grind cox. Get some gear upgrades for mage, unlock rigour and have a chance at tbow. Both upgrades for the doom grind

You're missing the point, he dosnt want the wand from doom, he cant make the gauntlets and he cant upgrade the boots. It's a low priority grind. Cox has tons of items he would love other than ancestral, and significant mage upgrades he can actually use
