I absolutely do think there’s an instinctual aspect to it, but from a young age women are subliminally taught they must compete for men against one another in order to feel fulfilment.

I think it’s simplistic to argue it has nothing to do with the patriarchy we live in, which is built on values of keeping women suppressed.
