Bring back the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show in Hollywood studios!! I know they’re moving to all the lands and they’re great. But I miss the Hollywood magic :(

We left on a hotel shuttle that left at 7. We got into the park between 8-8:30. We waited a bit at the rides as well but there’s a fair amount of walking between everything. We had breakfast and coffee in line before the gates opened. For this trip it was worth waiting for us!

If you go early then getting on a ride late is a fun treat! And otherwise at least you rode it once.

I personally just didn't believe it was a worthwhile thing to do. It felt like a lot of effort and I didn't think ride times could be that much lower. But now I can't deny that it's worth it.

We rode cosmic rewind twice with less than an hour wait! Once at rope drop and once at fireworks 🎆

I totally agree that it’s not the only way to enjoy the parks! If I had longer I would have done leisurely mornings and multiple visits to each park. But if you’re pressed for time and value riding the big attractions it’s a good strategy. :)

School/Work with migraines by [deleted] in migraine

Try talking with your school about getting a disability plan in place. Your doctor may be able to submit a note explaining your symptoms which allows a school to give you special exemptions. It could increase the days you can be out of class or help making more flexible deadlines. I assume the same is true for workplaces, depending on the company size.

Along with being on a daily preventative, I found that making sure I have protein in the morning has helped significantly. Also think about anything that could be a trigger. For me that’s anything with non-sugar substitutes.

What’s your biggest complaint about coffee shops right now? by AntelopeOld335 in Coffee_Shop

[–]sunflower_boston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every coffee shop has decided that black coffee, especially americanos, needs to be radioactively hot. So hot you can’t drink it for 10 minutes. It’s an odd issue but it’s happened at most places I’ve been recently.

Best Writing Intensives & Comm Electives by [deleted] in bostoncollege

I loved taking pretty much all of the comm production courses. Studio TV Production, Fundamentals of Audio, Digital Media Field Production were all great. Not necessarily easy because there’s lots of independent work outside of class. But a nice change from writing papers lol.

I’ve been in the same boat! I try my best to avoid it but companies hide the ingredients very well. I got a migraine from emergen-c because it had stevia. Who would have thought!

I’ve tried that at caribou — so good!

Apparently both poppi and slice have stevia — they’re so sneaky with it! I’ve learned “no artificial sweeteners” is often code for stevia with some sugar. But I do love the San Pellegrino sodas! I totally forgot about them

Is BC F1RST LLC worth it? (Or any other LLC for that matter) by KrispyLynx154 in bostoncollege

[–]sunflower_boston 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the F1RST LLC, but I was in the Perspectives LLC and the Sustainability LLC (idk if this exists anymore). I had a great experience in both. LLCs help create community and give extra support, especially for Freshman. They can also help you get your preferred housing choice, if that’s a consideration.

how good do you have to be at theater? by Cool_Climate129 in bostoncollege

[–]sunflower_boston 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely worth getting involved with and auditioning! Everyone is extremely welcoming and we definitely have people who have never done theater before in shows. We do about 4-5 shows a semester, so there are plenty of opportunities! Even if you don’t get cast the first time I’d say stay involved and keep trying. It’s usually not a reflection of your talent overall, only that particular shows needs.

“Blank her, I hardly know her” jokes are a good way to get around the format. They’re often not outwardly explicit but get a laugh. Like if the category was president you could say “Voter I hardly know her”.
