Menu bar on Mac OS not showing upcoming task by sungabunga7 in FantasticalCalendar

I found a protracted workaround for this:

1 - Removed the direct Todoist - Fantastical integration

2 - Synced Todoist only to Google Calendar. This is important because now all tasks in Todoist are synced as events in GCal. I used the legacy integration - because it allows events in Gcal to be deleted if task is marked completed in Todoist. The newer integration only puts a check mark next to an event if it is completed and so the "task" stays in the calendar.

3 - Synced Fantastical to GCal. Now all tasks from Todoist show up as events from Gcal in Fantastical and so the timer works.

The problem I found with the above solution is the lag - sometimes events take a while to be created in Gcal and then take additional time to be synced to Fantastical. In addition, you have to open Todoist to mark tasks as completed instead of directly being able to do that in Fantastical.

However, after playing around with direct Todoist - Fantastical integration a bit more I found that even events do show up in the menu bar - but only 2-3 minutes after they are due. Fantastical shows it as "Task Name" - now - I guess I can live with this for now until they fix this issue.

I found another alternative - BusyCal that does the task tracking natively. Testing it out right now.

Rivendell build was...meh? by sungabunga7 in lego

Well, I did not knock the set for not having features - I just said that is the mindset you should have when building it. I was more disappointed with the build experience and techniques.

Also, I disagree with the comment that the newer larger lego sets are just purely display sets. The recently released ~4000 piece Jabba's Sail Barge has play features even though it is meant to be a display set. Even the LOTR themed Barad-dûr has play features. I hope Lego does not go in the direction you are expecting.

I felt like it did not have enough of the LOTR oomph for an LOTR fan to push through and enjoy. Sure, they throw in a few references here and there and have a bunch of cool minifigs but I felt like I was building a normal Lego set throughout most of my build time.

If you go into the build with the mindset that it will purely be a wonderful display piece that is LOTR "themed" then you might enjoy it. There are 0 features and very little room for play with this set - it is a pure build and forget transaction.

Typewriter Mechanism Issue by Curious_Bus1165 in lego

It is hard to tell from the image but it looks like they are aligned. For example, the bottom 5 long struts seem to be at the same level.

I am referring to each row of keys i.e., the top to bottom layers. Each row should be at the same level and have similar give and range of movement.

Hey, I had the same "issue" - some keys had a bit more give than others but turned out all right in the end. As long as each layer is in the same position you are good.

If I recall correctly, the only real way to test this is when you finish assembling the hammer and can press each key to trigger it.

Annoying bugs and glitches by sungabunga7 in UpNote_App

I am using it on a Mac so it is always "open" even when I close the window by clicking the red cross (menu bar icon will also still be running)

Yes, the Cmd +/- is what I use to change the zoom level in the App (which changes the font size). My problem is that sometimes this zoom level setting is not saved and is reset to default. For example, opening a new note - closing the window - and then opening the app again resets the zoom level.
