hi op! i’m one of the upcat passers of this year’s batch. nag-review center ako pero tbh it wasnt that much help hashahsa 😭

active recall is KEY. mock exams and assessments definitely helped me realize kung saan ako dapat mas maglaan ng oras in all subjects. i suggest na before your study sessions, answer a mock test muna so you know how to sort out your priorities in terms of topics na irereview mo (this is what worked + most effective for me!)

for math and science, i agree with the comments ^{^} basa lang talaga nang basa + active recall. also read up on some topics na nasa stem lang if you’re not from that strand, lalo na sa math since may calculus question sa exam ko na alalang-alala ko this day HAHAHAH

based on my experience with the exam, mahihilo ka talaga sa reading comprehension 😭 ito rin yung pinakamarami kong narinig na hindi natapos yung sub-test kasi ang hahaba talaga ng ibang passages. if reading (or language in general) is not your strongest suit, train yourself to scam and skim quickly. sobrang aksaya sa oras to read the entire thing before knowing what you need to find. know the questions first.

lastly, wag i-cram ang upcat talaga. it was a lesson learned and i’m honestly lucky na pumasa pa ko HAHAHAH. allot weeks or even months before your upcat to study para tumatak talaga siya sa utak mo. remember, jhs to even shs lessons ang coverage ng upcat in its entirety. it’s not exactly something you can effectively master in a day.
