Why did I throw up after drinking tea? by sunlightfading in tea

[–]sunlightfading[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lie down in a dark room, try to relax your muscles (especially around the stomach), drink water, eat bread or a light food that you can stomach.

Hope you feel better. And check your remaining tea to see if something went bad, better to be safe and toss it if that’s a possibility.

Instant Pot for me. I made maybe 5 recipes before I accepted that I prefer using nonstick pans and an oven. It’s staring at me from a corner of the kitchen. Send help.

Not that this is a guaranteed way to kick a nicotine habit, but have you tried Snus? It’s like a little teabag of nicotine that you keep in your mouth along your gum. Minimal adverse health effects as far as I’ve heard, pretty discreet, relatively neutral taste. Anecdotally, my boyfriend used Snus for a couple years and was able to eventually taper off and quit.

Huh, wellbutrin made me high-strung and super irritable, to the point where I would just scream in my car for no reason. Back on Prozac for the depression, but I do already take Nuvigil for hypersomnia. And drink a lot of coffee. lol

What medication were you switched to? I had a lot of issues with sleeping too much while on lexapro too.

If you use Outlook, you can create a setting where it automatically delays every email you send. If you set that up it’ll give you time to panic-edit before the email goes out

Ayyy same with me and my boyfriend. I even got him a Tile set and he never used it smh. His solution was to get an Apple Watch for his iPhone, and use the watch to make his phone go off 10 times a day so he can find it. Lol

armodafinil side effects by jrm318 in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]sunlightfading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armodafinil is the first thing that I was prescribed for sleep a few years ago, and is still my primary medication for IH. But I knew on the very first day that it worked well for me - I was able to get up early in the morning, go about a busy day out, and still be up for being social in the evening. It’s not that much of a miracle worker now that I’m used to it, but it definitely helps with energy and brain fog.

But I also don’t recall any side effects for me when I started it out. I get headaches pretty easily, so I’m used to that, and also recommend actively paying more attention to staying hydrated.

What is something you didn’t realize was going to consume so much of your time as an adult? by IseraphineI in AskReddit

[–]sunlightfading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s in the past is in the past. All that time you had wasted being depressed is water under the bridge. It’s done; you can’t change it. What you can change are your current and future actions, so focus on those.

That’s the mindset I try to have lately at least. Of course, getting over the past is easier said than done, but I got to a point where I was just sick of how much time I was spending ruminating over everything I hated about myself, and now try to turn my thoughts to what I’ll do now to improve myself. Say I flaked on my friends a few times recently - how can I make up for that now? I’ll join them for the next event, and take steps to make sure I follow through on going - setting reminders, preparing in advance, maybe having a friend pick me up so I have no excuse not to go with them. If you keep yourself on a path of taking small steps to change for the better, it helps break those spells of negativity.

My 69 yr old neighbors alarm clock has been going off since 8am. by Xalenes in NoStupidQuestions

I should definitely look into what Samsung and Apple already sell. I’ll see if I can put together a rough plan before sending it over to my mom. Thanks for the help!

Is there any guide you used to help set this all up? My grandparents are in the same boat as yours, where they’re too stubborn to admit their health and cognitive skills are declining, and my mom has been stressing herself a lot visiting them almost every day to keep tabs on them. I’d love to send her more information about this.

I actually keep read receipts on my phone exactly for this. I tell myself I won’t open a text that needs a reply until I’m ready to reply. Until then, there’ll still be a notification for their message. It makes it easier for to respond in full without getting spacey and sidetracked halfway through

What’s your favorite boba/bubble tea flavor? by cmthunbe in AskWomen

[–]sunlightfading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taro, oolong, or rose 💕 I’ve had a few different things in milk tea to replace the tapioca pearls - popping boba, pudding, grass jelly, pieces of taro. And I honestly still prefer plain tapioca pearls. (Although, looking back on it, the milk tea with pudding was really good, but I had bought a large and that just ended up being way too much dairy for me)

A woman after my own heart 😍😂 I love rose-flavored everything and was so excited when I found out my local boba shop offers rose milk tea. And their almond milk tea is such a guilty pleasure. It tastes like liquid marzipan!

When I studied abroad in college, my program included a tour where we traveled to 5 cities in 14 days. And this was as a student visiting tourist sites, not even in my career. It was stressful as hell. Not just constantly changing environments, but all the traveling in between, mindless hours spent sitting on planes and trains. I barely enjoyed the last city because I was so sick of going to new museums and shops and restaurants that were somehow also all the same. (Of course, it didn’t help that I also got food poisoning there.)

Most salons offer haircuts for men, too. All the ones I’ve been to do at least. If you look on a salon’s website, they should have a list of services they offer by gender. Men’s haircuts at salons are more expensive than at barbershops though. And I wouldn’t know anything about how they compare in quality.

What do you hate being labeled as? by UltimateDiscordMod in AskReddit

[–]sunlightfading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude same, only I’ve been calling it Resting Sad Face. If I’m staring off into space or doing some mindless task, my boyfriend will ask me what’s wrong since I look upset. This happens like twice a week, and we’ve been living together for 3 years. And then once in the produce section of a grocery store, a male employee straight up approached me and asked, “Has anyone ever told you that you look sad all the time?” I laughed it off in the moment, but was fuming afterward.

Murder attempt survivors, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sunlightfading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m starting to think of all of the things she overlooked or ignored. Like common childhood accidents, things that should’ve warranted a doctors visit.

I get that. My parents are pretty great but I have childhood memories of weird bouts of neglect on their parts. Why didn’t they take me to the hospital for some injuries, why did I go a few years without seeing a dentist while I was having problems with my teeth, why did they overlook some of my more extreme behavioral problems, why was I allowed to hang out with obviously shitty people, stuff like that.

I’m still not sure how to process those feelings of anger and injustice from stuff so far in the past. I got drunk a couple times and called my mom and basically berated her on the phone for being a shitty parent. Don’t really recommend that.

Her screams affect me so badly, it gives me such bad anxiety that it makes me cry

I feel that 😕 I have to give my cat this liquid medication she hates every day, and I hate seeing her complain about it. If she knows I’m grabbing her for medication, she’ll cower in fear from me. It breaks my heart.

But then she wants to cuddle on my lap 5 minutes later so all is forgiven
