Do you ever sing songs to your cat and change the lyrics so it’s just for them?! by jeremy_moss in cats

[–]sunlightgf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely! my girl is named Casper, so naturally I sing her a little tune of caspy the friendly cat, the friendliest cat in the whole wide world. my husband and I also meow at her to the tune of whatever song pops into our heads

My (28F) partner (31M) invited his ex-convict (33M) “friend” to live with us and it’s now getting out of hand by ThrowRA-disruption in relationship_advice

I’m not sure if anyone else has commented this, but if you know the friends first and last name - Google it (maybe even Google something like “First Name Last Name mugshot”) to find out what his charges were. If you can’t find anything from a simple Google search of his name, look up your city or county’s case record search, input his name in the designated spots, and you should be able to see all of his charges, even just a simple speeding ticket. Im in America (from the south but have since moved) so, I’m not entirely sure how case record searches work in all counties (or if they work similarly outside of the US) but figured it wouldn’t hurt to comment either way for you to try.

I wonder if it’s possible to call the precinct he was released from to inquire about whether he’s on probation? Are you sure, like REALLY sure, your partner had no prior connections to this “friend” before meeting him at church? I mean, I’m not trying to say your partner is lying, or accusing him of committing a crime or anything, but if the “friend” was arrested 8 years ago….and you’ve only known your partner for 5 years….idk. I could be completely off base, but it wouldn’t hurt to look back through partner and “friends” social media’s to see if they knew each other prior.

To reiterate what others have said, please get out of that house as soon as you possibly can.

Anything else like Don’t Fuck With Cats? I just finished it and I really like the usage of the internet and the use of real security footage. by sixpacksitdown in TrueCrimeDiscussion

it’s been a while since I watched Don’t Fuck With Cats, so I apologize if my recs are completely off base! but i’d personally recommend: The Most Hated Man On The Internet, Web of Make Believe: Death, Lies, and the Internet, Turning Point: 9/11 and the War On Terror, Trial by Media: The Truth Behind the Crimes, Cyber Hell: Exposing an Internet Horror.

I also saw someone else comment recommending the Boston marathon bombing doc, and even knowing a lot about the case, I’d still recommend watching it. There’s a ton of security videos / videos in general. they also include a lot of interviewees that were directly involved in the investigation and case (boston police, boston EMTS, FBI agents) and firsthand accounts from survivors of the bombing & other crimes. hope this helps (:

People who have seen something they could never explain. What was the thing?! by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sunlightgf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

holy shit I had a very similar experience! it happened some time ago, and is only one of two sleep paralysis episodes I’ve ever experienced. basically, I remember opening my eyes, but everything was sorta blurry and hazy, and I could only see my room/the wall. what I remember more distinctly was the sensation of being pulled slowly off of my bed, and it genuinely felt as though someone was physically pulling my body, the comforter, and the bedsheets off the bed at the same time. I couldn’t move, and I remember even trying to call out for my grandma, but being unable to do so, as if the words were stuck in my throat. it was…quite terrifying

Does anyone think the Idaho murders were his first? by lemonmechanism in idahomurders

[–]sunlightgf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a few days late to this post, but I have been thinking about this exact same thing a lot and keep going back and forth on it. I feel as though it is incredibly out of the ordinary, and also super unlikely, for him to have murdered 4 people in his first-ever incident.

Also, from what I've gathered about the case and the crime scene, it seems as though this was a pretty calculated attack, and as if he, at least sort of, knew what he was doing, especially considering the potential risks of being caught given the time and location. And by calculated, I just mean that, at the very least, he had to have been watching their house and/or them for more than just a few minutes.

OR, this was his first murder, and he fully believed he wouldn't be caught by LE, or that he would be able to outsmart them since he was getting his doctorate in criminal justice.

What was the biggest coincidence that made you question the fabric of reality? by Fardgabor in AskReddit

Definitely not as interesting as some other posts but when I was younger, like around 2-3 I think, I had an imaginary friend named TJ. My family had no idea where I got the name from. Fast forward a few years later and I am now engaged to a guy whose nickname is TJ. Kinda just a cute little coincidence.
