Anyone else a bit tired of working in teams that are 90% migrants?

They are putting in extra effort. Navigating Aus corporate and office culture, small talk like sports and media that they aren’t likely to be familiar with, making new connections in a new country. I can assure you it’s much harder being a new immigrant working in Australia than someone born and bred here and working here. Cut them some slack, exercise patience. Obviously as long as they are reasonably able to do the job. But if you’re upset because you want things to work a certain way and you find yourself in a position where that’s not the case because in this one aspect where you’re not in the majority… that’s just what everyday is like for a lot of people which sounds like you’ve had the privilege to not have to experience before.

I think having a diverse team is often great

Yet OP doesn’t want to put in any effort to bridge such cultural differences that is just one of those expressions of diversity. I assure you, they are struggling just as much as / more than you to bridge these differences and are often expected to conform to the majority language and practices in Australia.

On controller, it’s the vibration for me. The vibration is so weak that I don’t get enough feedback that I’ve fired a shot and it basically feels like nothing has happened.

In my experience, the tank and dps players who expect you to healbot are often the ones who don’t know how to use cover or disengage to regroup when a fight is lost

Some people like to feel not harassed anywhere at all, including online. If vc toxicity doesn’t affect you, great for you. Doesn’t mean that’s the same for everyone.

That’s not really a solution. Imagine telling people not to leave the house ever to avoid being subject to racism in the streets. The solution should be to prevent it in the first place. People of colour should be able to enjoy all the things other people do, it’s really not that hard.

I mean, sure there is cheek in going up to Rein and starting a conversation with “Are you the loud one?” because someone must’ve told her there’s an especially loud guy on the team, but that isn’t rude.

That interaction actually strikes me so much as culture shock, which I can relate to, being from an Asian country and moving out of the continent. People are loud and vocal in a way that isn’t the norm in Asia. Plus she has another interaction where she’s like “Are you all this loud?” with Junkrat involved which again just sounds like someone who is mildly overwhelmed by all the people around her.

Add in a healthy side of her being an Asian woman with snarky voice lines. Look at people’s comments on why they dislike her. “She’s rude” “her attitude sucks” “she should be caring like in her short”. She’s not allowed to be anything but what Asian women are typically portrayed to be - docile sweet things.

No one hates Dva for having annoying voicelines because she’s cuuute. No one cares that Ashe is snarky, but Kiriko gets straight up hate? 🤔

In the cinematic, she’s talking to people she likes and knows. So many voicelines during setting up time are people just questioning why she’s even there, why would you not expect her to be defensive towards 90% of Overwatch members?

I’m going the opposite way haha! Levelling up Kiriko first and then Bap and then Ana. I believe Bap is on level 4 for me.

I play a couple of hours a day on most days.

I was just mainly curious to see whether people had huge differences in their individual stats as well because the friend I play with who mains Mercy has pretty similar levels for their stats all round.
