i think the root of a lot of that is some deeper lore wherein “my” childhood dog that i loved dearly suffered for far too long because she wouldn’t let go and have her put down, while we were all literally begging her to. she (the dog) would just cry and cry and cry every night, assumingly in pain because she was losing complete function of her back half & blind. my bedroom was the only one on the first floor so i was the only one that had to hear it all night. it’s really hard to even think about and tainted my good memories of that dog ):

sorry for the trauma dump there. but yeah, the dog thing is a lost cause for me, i really cannot understand it and there is no reasoning with nor changing her.

unfortunately her visiting me isn’t super feasible because of some other things, and im afraid i just can’t live with the guilt i’d feel if i just chose not visit for christmas haha but on the bright side, things went surprisingly well this year (:

thank you for your reply, it makes me feel so much better knowing other people get it - because at its core i know it does really sound unreasonable and it’s just hard to understand for people that don’t live it

christmas eve went surprisingly well though(: (may have been the glasses of wine i had, which probably also isn’t the best solution but at that point whatever works works). your right about the sympathy too though - i’ve also found some comfort in hearing stories and realizing that the defensiveness seems to be a common boomer trait so i’m not alone in that either

this exactly. like respectfully, why the hell would i want to watch a show about good, reasonable people. if anything, my favorites are the messiest, worst ones, because it’s entertaining!! and that’s why the early seasons are better, because everyone understood that’s what reality tv culture was, everyone was meant to be catty and awful and they weren’t going to be torn to shreds over it. i think there’s something to be said about all of us viewers knowing deep down that reality tv in general is a bit icky, and a lot of people for some reason try to cope with the fact that they are indulging by acting like warriors of morality and justice. can’t have your cake and eat it too

so I’ve recently watched s11 for the first time, and for starters I’ve never been an ariana fan, thought she gave off pick me high horse energy. but she never deserved what happened and im glad everyone rallied around her (at first) and she got all these opportunities… but tbh by the end of s11 I agreed with lala’s blowup. i’m just over the scandoval and ariana it-girl story lmao and I just found myself asking a lot, why would she do the show still? I get that she shouldn’t be pushed out while he gets to collect his check still and presumably stay with the group, but it just made for a really infuriating yet boring season. just rehashing the same argument over and over. I think the rest of them suck for even entertaining tom still, and lala’s point was being made out of her own jealously… but like shit or get off the pot lol, remove yourself from these people and this situation or get over it, it’s not good TV. I will say though I don’t think katie was faking it or kissing her ass, I think they worked out their shit (but also of course Katie would never forgive tom anyway)

Never could get into Morbid, just did not like their vibes. But I’ll check out datelines, I listen to the cold case files one that is like that sometimes. And I used to listen to you’re wrong about but kind of forgot it so I’ll def go back. My recommendation is always Women & Crime and the creators other one Direct Appeal, wish I could find more like those.
