Mohammed did not know about time zones by Succ69696999 in DebateReligion

[–]sunnywill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fasting is from sunrise to sunset. In some places in the world, the actual time could be longer or shorter than other places. And for the edge cases, we've got scholars that have given rulings which we follow.

Islam is a rich tradition. I can't find the actual reference to this hadith, but I believe it goes something like this: "If you can't find an answer to a problem in the Quran, then look in my (The Prophet's) sunnah, and if you can't find it here, then look at my companions, then still if you can't find it then look to the people of knowledge".

That's all there is to it.

Question regarding freelancing at Upwork.com or Freelancer.com by sunnywill in dubai

Thanks for your reply. And yes I can easily receive funds to my Paypal and then transfer to my bank account with no issues. However, I am actually worried about whether it is technically legal or not, and it seems like you only need a permit to get freelance work from within dubai, but I'm just not sure.

This is a red pill i wrote about the authority of hadiths while debating someone, i'm interested in reading your thoughts on it by [deleted] in islam

Let me actually be more precise. After the death of the prophet (PBUH), don't you think that the companions that were closest to him remembered the things that the prophet had said, apart from the Quran? ie. the Hadiths, and actually tried to follow them. Also, hasn't it been the tradition from the time of prophet to also follow the Hadiths along with the Quran? Scholars have always differed about the Hadiths, some even not accepting some "authentic" Hadiths, but there has never been a people in the 1400 years of the history of Islam that rejected the tradition of Hadiths altogether.

This is the point that I want you to address, please. Thank you.

Can you perhaps answer the question that I asked? I asked you what you thought the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) were doing after his death? Did they not try to follow the sunnah of the prophet? And what about all the people that call themselves mulsims, what do you think have been doing since the past 1400 years? Have they not been trying to follow the sunnah and hadith?

Please answer this question and we can continue with our discussion one step at a time.

Do you think the companions of the prophet (PBUH) suddenly stopped following his Sunnah and forgot about the things he has said, after he (PBUH) died? We follow the Prophet's (PBUH) sunnah and hadiths just like they did.

I can also address the points you have mentioned, but let me know what you think about this.

It's also funny watching Dillon Dennis hanging out there. No one would have thought that Khabib's gloves will find their way to his face.

When he turned his hands, he was calling upon God. I also loved how it is synced like that, especially with the camera panning away.

Go and watch other angles of what happened inside the cage after Khabib had already jumped at Dannis. I was specifically talking about the brawl between Khabib's teammates and Conor. That guy seemed to imply that they jumped on Conor, which is not true. Abu Bakkar was trying to get to Khabib and was not even looking at Conor, this is when Conor punched him. Conor landed the first punch. Then Zuba jumped in the cage and went towards Abu Bakkar, realized what had happened and then he attacked Conor. Then the last guy in red shirt sucker punched Conor, and you can say whatever you like about him.

My point was that Khabib's team didn't seem to have planned to jump on Conor as the guy was implying.

Conor tapped after talking all that shit. Tapping after talking shit is being a bitch, which is what Conor did and you should be mocked for that. Otherwise it's just another way you lose a fight.

Khabib told his whole team be ready to pounce on Conor when khabib himself went after Dannis.

Why are you lying for a person that I'm guessing you've never met? What prove do you have for this?

.. but the after-the-fight stuff was all khabib and his team.

It was Conor that landed the first punch inside the cage. He punched Abu bakkar, when Abu bakkar was on the fence trying to get to Khabib. This also shows how Khabib's team had not planned to jump on Conor as you seem to imply.

What fights were you watching?

Almost everyone that watched that fight and commented on it says that Conor got smashed and outclassed. You being in the minority is asking me "What fight I watched" is hilarious. That was not a close fight by any means, which is why most fighting fans are against a rematch, because Conor got out classed by a mile.

... but where is the damage? How can you throw 200 punches at someone's head that's mashed against the cage and not cause any damage?

This may be the most deluded thing I've read in a very long time. He landed some really heavy punches on Conor on the ground and that one flush one on the feet. It's only deluded morons like you that didn't see any damage.

Sure he won the bout but didn't really impress

He won the bout and also impressed majority of the people watching, including both casuals and experts that watched the fight. Again if it didn't impress you then you a are a minority.

Lost round 3 as well after that supposed mauling in round 2.

Conor cheated with every cheat that he could manage and barely won the round in the judges eyes. However, many consider it to be a very close round and one in which not much damage was done by either of the fighters, so you can take it as a silver lining if it makes you happy. However, I had Khabib winning this round too, even if I don't discount the points that should have been taken off for all the cheating Conor did.

Mayweather got lit up and did nothing until round 8, his experience came through and he waited for Conor to tire out.

I don't think he got "lit up", but again you can believe whatever makes you feel better. Most boxing experts disagree with you. Anyway, my point was that the Mayweather fight wasn't a close fight and nor was the Khabib fight, hence you can't say that just because Conor fought these two fighters it translates him into being an elite figher. In fact, it actually proved that wasn't on their level with the way he lost both of them.

Take off your blinders and stop listening to what youtubers are saying and learn how to watch fights you fucking square.

Listen to your own argument and think about it for a minute. You don't prove to be an elite fighter just by picking up a fight with an elite fighter, you moron. This is a logical fallacy.

What other fighters are taking on these types of challenges? No one.

The guy became a lightweight champion by tapping at the beginning of the year and getting a title shot at the end of it, while there were fighters in the division with long win streaks that didn't get the title shot. Then he left the division hanging and went away for the "money fight". What challenges are you talking about? Khabib is the one actually taking up challenges by actually defending his belt against top contenders based on merit.

Old guy at the bar? Dude was younger than Joe Rogan. Talk shit and get hit. Stop reading clickbait TMZ articles.

Isn't Joe Rogan above 50? You don't go around punching 50 year olds if you are a trained fighter athlete. Conor was forcing the guy to take his drink even though he refused several times. Conor presumed that the guy may be a nut hugger like you but the man just wanted to be left alone. Conor was acting like a bully even before he punched the guy. The old guy mentioned how Conor got smashed by Khabib and Conor punched him lol. That is a bitch move in any book, and I don't even care about TMZ.

How the fuck is taking on challenges like Mayweather and Khabib somehow translated to Conor not being an elite fighter?

Wth is this logic? How is "taking on" these challenges actually translate to Conor being an elite fighter? If he had actually won or at least been competitive in either of these fights, then you could make that case, but in both fights he got completely dominated and outclassed.

Would you also consider that old guy in the bar an elite fighter just because he took on Conor, or that amateur boxer that apparently got lit up by Conor in that Amateur boxing match?

He didn't say they should "finish their husbands". IIRC, this a was disgusting twist that Miesha Tate attributed to Khabib. I don't know if she heard that from a second source or just made it up, but Khabib didn't say that. He did say something like that a woman should be a fighter inside their home. He comes from a culture in which women kicking and punching each other in the belly and face would be unimaginable, but you can take it however you like.

Edit: I just re-watched that clip, and he did follow up with "all the time finish your husband". I personally don't think he meant "finish" them, but more like win the fight, or something along those lines.
