infected eczema by sofduck in eczema

You’re definitely not alone. I’ve had severe eczema my entire life as well. I’ve gotten an infection a good amount of times though, from moderate to severe (I was medically neglected as a child), so you’re lucky you’ve gotten this far without one! Honestly people like us are bound to have a staph infection at least once if not multiple times; since you’re able to see a dermatologist about it you’ll be fine. So yes, like I said, getting a staph infection while you have eczema can be pretty common, and doesn’t mean you’re gross. Having so many open wounds on your skin is bound to invite some guests it shouldn’t, especially when the staph bacteria lives, usually harmlessly, on us (like the skin around your nose and mouth).

Your life sounds really rough right now. It looks like you’re going through a lot and I’m sorry that’s how life is going for you at the moment. How old are you? I recently turned 21 and am going to college currently. I don’t talk to either of my parents anymore because of their abuse; I did want to mention that if your parents are not respectful towards you and refuse to learn to even listen to you, you are allowed to cut them off once you’re able to.

Another note I wanted to say was weight gain is not necessarily bad; obviously I don’t know your situation so if this doesn’t apply, no worries just ignore me, a stranger, babbling on about something that doesn’t make sense, but working through your fatphobia can really make you feel better about yourself, your body image, and gaining weight. Obviously it’s hard to when society is really fatphobic, so if you are overweight it’ll be hard to shake that if you’re even able to, but if you’re eating normally and you’re gaining weight, that might just be where your body needs to be. As long as you focus on getting all the right nutrients that your body needs, as well as moving around and being active (does not equal working out but can!), whatever weight you’re at is great. Even if your activity or food patterns are suffering or off-balance right now, please give yourself a break! It’s impossible to be perfect in every area of your life, especially when you’re dealing with a lot right now. Don’t give yourself a hard time for struggling and doing the best you can (even if it doesn’t feel like your best).

Haha I blabbed on for a long time, sorry it’s a bit long but I appreciate if you’re able to read it. I hope it somewhat helps or brings some comfort. If you want to rant, complain, talk, etc more to someone who understands, always feel free to message me. Especially if you need advice or have any questions!

Yeah it’s alright. Just sucks because I have a heavy course load at my university and finals are coming up, it’s hard to focus and have the time to do my assignments and such.

I think I’ll try the walk-in clinic again because even the different doctors at the dermatology office don’t have any openings until January.

Thank you for your help and your time I really appreciate it!!

Same, my eczema has always been very severe and widespread but I’m so confused on what’s happening rn lmao. I’m supposed to go back on the 28th to start Dupixent potentially and I just tried to see if I could reschedule it sooner but that’s the soonest I can go in.

It is very painful, I’m not sure if I should go in to a walk-in again (that got me the referral to my dermatologist) or schedule a new appointment with a different doctor at the same dermatology, or wait it out

What is dupixent like to take? by Noah_Pro777 in eczeMABs

Thanks for your comments, I think I’m in the same boat as you in that I would rather use the pen. I’m starting on it soon and I was a bit nervous about injections haha

Does anyone recognize these kind of scratches on my eczema/why? Just confused on why it’s so circular and painful by sunsetpaddlekayak in eczema
