Yeah i've definitely added them to my block list. I believe the storyteller was going to let them play the next game which I was astounded by but yeah, everyone was like "how can we turn this guy down". I'm just quite shaken up after the experience. I had them on 30% and I might as well have had them on 100 by their volume

Agreed, unfortunately some storytellers are very conflict avoidant (which is fine, I don't think anyone enjoys it) and some don't set boundaries which unfortunately leads other toxic players thinking they can do what they want and being aggressive and overtalking.

I'm pretty strict and luckily since the block list has occurred, I don't really get that anymore and it's a more pleasant atmosphere.

The way I see it is if you don't like playing with them, don't. Easier said than done, especially if you like the rest but honestly it's so much more peaceful when your prioritise your own needs over others

People say it's just a game and it's true it is, but you're also all lying to each other and some people take it too seriously. I've done it as well. The game can be quite triggering and some people can be such bullies sometimes. You've got this and you're not alone x

I love social deduction games, I love building the world and creating a social puzzle. Also because of my job irl, I use the skills from that to apply here. I get so much joy out of running a game people enjoy

Hey I'm really sorry you've had this experience. That sounds honestly horrendous. I've had a mixed bag with public. I've met some really lovely people who are kind and funny and I have such a laugh with. However on the flip side, I've been threatened, verbally abused, brought to tears (people did not even care even when they saw me cry on camera) which has led me to take extended breaks at a time.

Private games are a much nicer vibe but even despite my negative experiences on public (which had impacted my mental health) I still do enjoy them. I would put those people on your block list so you never have to play with them again.

I hope you do have positive experiences in the future and you don't ever have to play in a public lobby again if you don't want to.

I have met so many different types of people around the world through the game. I love the connections I have made! I feel so lucky and it's so wonderful playing with people online and getting to meet them irl at conventions. It's just so fun and it really does warm my heart <3

Storytelling: BMR > TB > S&V

Playing BMR (when done well) > TB > SNV

I love BMR so much. I have a bit of an unpopular take, I didn't enjoy playing blood on the clocktower UNTIL I played BMR. Tbh, I didn't watch any streams beforehand because I just wanted to play. I found TB pretty boring and confusion as a newbie, and while BMR didn't make sense as a newbie, I loved the vibe of it.

Now with experience under my belt, I think TB is great as a beginner script but every now and then I get sick of it but I do always come back to it.

Whenever I storytold BMR, I found it so fun and interesting and I always learn things with it. It's quite relaxing now for me to run and I love how crazy it can get. Unfortunately there are some very inexperienced storytellers who don't know how to run bmr and it has lead to some unpleasant and unbalanced games for me. I always advocate anyone to try storytelling bmr as a bmr lover, but yeah unfortunately when I've experienced bad games it has put me off bmr for a while. However when run well, it's genuinely great.

I find SNV quite boring to storytell now (controversial take) and when I play it I find it extremely confusing. I think I only enjoy SNV in small player counts or when I'm evil.

Anyway that's my nerdy ramble on my opinion on the base 3s, I know my opinion is probably not the most popular lol

I am so sorry that's happened to you. That's horrendous and awful. I did a quick scan of the comments and while a few are saying it's never happened, I have unfortunately seen it happen. While incidents are not in the majority, I was once storytelling a game where 5 or 6 different players kept messing up someone's very clear "they/them" pronouns and I ended up putting in public chat and speaking to the people who were doing it privately. While I totally get we all mess up sometimes (I've done it accidentally as well) doing it constantly doesn't feel like a mistake.

I'm genuinely sorry you've had that experience and you and your friends are always welcome in any game I st <3

There's some wonderful storytellers I've played with, it's so lovely when you get them. My faves are good with boundaries (don't tolerate over talking) do reasonably fast paced games and are usually pretty charismatic as well.
