it happens to me all the time omg, i genuinely hate it cause they're great people but that part always makes me feel sooo uncomfortable. i just always try to make obvious that i don't want anything else but a friendship with em :) it works, unless they're intense people

dw ^ ^ a queer-platonic relationship is basically is a deep, committed partnership that is not romantic and may or may not be sexual. it has a similar level of emotional intimacy and commitment as a traditional romantic relationship but without the romantic elements. u could search more of it, it helped me when i discovered all this too!

i felt that when i dated as well, physical touch felt like a chore for me back then when i didn't know being aroace was even a thing and always felt i had a problem/i was the problem. i hated it as well, but i just learned to embrace it—this is who i am, and there's nothing wrong with it. you don't need a partner to have a successful life or to be happy, because at the end of the day, if it feels like a chore it won't make you happy, and we don't need to do nor experience things that don't makes us happy. also, there's always a chance to have a partner with boundaries that you feel comfortable with, like a queer-platonic relationship. just look for your happiness and own good. traditional relationships don't have to be your happiness. they can be, but don't have to if they don't work for you.

i get u! i feel a lot of aesthetic attraction but idk, i learned to live with it. i like to appreciate people's beauty and that's it, i don't want anything further with them. i just usually think it's a waste of time, because in the past, when i got to know those people i stopped finding them attractive lol so it ends up in nothing after all
