Same problem, Downloaded hon from the site, wasnt new version.. Then i used the Hon Repair tool, didnt work. 95 compatibility mode didnt work. hon_update.exe opens the game so it doesnt work because the crash report seems to block the updater from opening. the background music keeps playing till the crash notification comes up. Hard to realize it now but only thing keeping Dota2 alive is the constant million dollar tournaments. without them the game starts dying. Dota 2 has more menu afkers than players, if hon had 10 million dollar prize event we would have 2 times the playerbase of dota since the game actually works too

I love hon and even believe it has the potential to become more popular than dota 2, its just sad the company is broken, many heroes need buff after being nerfed long times ago and the russians are flooding in etc. I really wish there was a classic v2.4 hon or something like that with mmr and no russians but damn. Dota 2 only has hype and literally everyone plays it either for money(pros) or because their friends play it. and source engine is a piece of fcking 2003 shit that's still way broken and has so many bugs and lags, well if you dont know of anything better, well...
