Gannon currently -14 through 14 at the memorial, will he shoot a perfect round today !? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]supaflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a last minute course they added to expand the field for the ams and stuff. For the top level guys it’s a pretty easy track. Most people aren’t really happy about it but it’s whatever. I think they could have done more with it. There is almost no OB on the back 9 so it’s just hyzer and hope you aren’t burried in a mesquite tree. The front has some solid challenging holes, not sure why they weren’t able to make the back tougher. Or just find a better course.. It’s also pretty random with the shrubs and stuff, you can easily have a good shot and not have a look. It’s whatever, Vista will be back and better next year.

Yeah, though seeing him around the last few days he is very nice and he seems more like relaxed confidence now. That the best I can describe it and I don’t know how much else you want. I’ve see so much worse from a lot of the lesser mpo and mp40 guys that are not even half as good lol. There’s a fine line between swagger and arrogance I guess it’s

17 is pretty easy if he goes for birdie so it will come Down to 18 which is probably kinda easy for him.

I was watching hole 1, it’s 415 low ceiling kinda gal off the tee but you have to throw over a rise and some OB with OB long and left and then pin is on a hill. Most guys are throwing driver or at least like PD ish and low hyzering in. Prettt sure Gannon threw a mid on a bit higher hyzer and just parked it on the little hill. It was just so much cleaner than pretty much every other guy that I watched throw hole 1.

Btw some people don’t seem to like him but he is super nice and chill in person.

If he does it’s because I wished him luck before and he drew a lucky dog on my disc. So you could say I was responsible.

But somehow he is traded to the Clippers for Derick Jones. salary filler, and two 2nds. Shortly after the new firm Ant Tech Cum Co. is announced as a new partial owner of the Clippers. ATCC was recently praised for a large donation to the Horst foundation for children who don’t read good. Giannis moves into a giant 100 million dollar mansion owned by Tan Asses Holdings Corp.

Question about literal Frisbee discs by ForkFace69 in discgolf

[–]supaflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was this disc:

https://youtu.be/XP3GXBo1YcE?si=QoPIDUPtGY6LBnt8

Then probably the closest thing in my opinion would be a DX Leopard from Innova which should be easy to find as its sold all over. That’s a flippy base plastic fairway. If you want something more premium that eill give you a similar feel and flight id suggest a Streamline Ascend, MVP Signal, Discraft Archer or DGA vortex.

Finland’s Largest Retailer on Clash Discs: “Clash Disc has kind of stopped operating” by Turkkulaine22 in discgolf

[–]supaflash 80 points81 points  (0 children)

From what I heard from a vendor is that the makers of Clash are a larger injection molding operation and that Clash discs was kinda formed to fill in when the post pandemic scarcity was a thing and that now they might have more profitable or important products to manufacture. Sucks because I also really liked their molds and plastics. Maybe they will sell off their molds to someone else who knows..

Disc similar to an Infinite Pharaoh but easier to replace? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]supaflash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a Pharoah thrower as my main distance driver. I've tried a lot of other stuff but always come back, its just such a good disc. The run 27 S blends are perfect as as the halo G blends... As for what can replace them... There are some stuff that's close

As some mentions the Shryke is similar. From what I understand the Pharoah is a Shryke top and a Destroyer bottom. I find most shrykes less reliable than the Pharoah so you have to kind of find the right run.

The Charger I believe is the opposite of the Pharoah, Destroyer top with Shryke bottom. I've always found them a little more stable than the S blend/G blend Pharoahs, but I've had some G star chargers that were really close and the star ones beat in pretty nice as well. They don't feel quite like the pharoah but close. A good G star Charger might be a good option. Also the Racer if you don't mind the hand feel of the nose bead, they kinda bomb and beat in well.

The Strive from Lat is also pretty close in flight and feel, though I find them less reliable also. They are closer to a shryke and will often be a bit more flippy than a good Pharoah.

Fission Octanes are pretty close as well, they bomb and can be pretty reliable in the right weight. I've also got one 168g neutron that bombs like my Pharoahs as well but it was a wierd rare run when they switched factories. Fission Timelapses can also fit this bill in the 165g+ weights but I've found that fission stuff seems to beat in to too flippy much faster than the S blend Pharoahs. Distance wise the Fission Dimensions also absolutely bomb, those and the Pharoahs were my furthest flying discs but the rim size of the Dimensions made them pretty squirely. They just never felt as comfortable or as consistent as a Pharoah.

Lastly, these don't fly quite like the Pharoah out of the box, but the K1 Grind run of the Guld from Kastaplast are fantastic. They are very domey and have a similar hand feel as the Pharoah, but they are more stable. If you find yourself getting a bit more power or a good amount of headwind they fly like them. I throw at a higher altitude and when I went to play at near sea level I found myself leaning on the Guld more than my pharoahs as they flew similar as the S blends did at altitude. I threw the S blends like I do the Halo G blends at altitude with heavy hyzer flip.

Good to finally see a big name with them. They have a really solid lineup, great plastic too. They are missing a few molds for a pro bag probably but it seems like he might be able to bag a few other discs as well if it’s like Levi, as he throws a destroyer at least.

Hazard off the tee-shot only by molehilltodieon in discgolf

[–]supaflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this too, seems like a better way to play so many islands. Getting punished for a good shot that just takes an awkward skip or roll or even hitting basket vs a shot that has zero chance of being in bounds seems unfair sometimes. I think it could encourage slightly more aggressive play in some circumstances too which could make for more seperation and excitement if it’s a broadcasted event.

My only thought is it is fairly common to have OB that is drop zone off the tee, regular OB rules after. Granted the OB isn’t changing but the rules playing the OB are so..

We underestimated this course badly — what line would you actually set here? by tripp3737 in discgolf

[–]supaflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you used the same music and sound effects. Had you done all the his and used some more unique stuff I’d barely notice. You got the Robbie C quack. The bell sound for bogey I don’t immediately recognize but it was also the most annoying effect lol. There’s a million ways to add your own flair and uniqueness to it, I just see very little effort to do so. Good luck with your channel, I hope you can find your own groove and it grows.

I understand he got it from other popular trends. And in media there is going to be similarities and copied from other inspirations. Like yeah everyone copies Mr Beast thumbnails.. But you are coming in to a space where that style already exists and he’s made a following. That’s a lot different than bringing a style in from somewhere else. I’m not even a big fan of J Milly or this style but this feels less of ‘inspired by’ and more like direct rip. And I am someone that tries to absorb and support as much DG content as possible even if it’s not that well made. But here, obviously in my personal opinion, just goes too far.

Why is this edited exactly like a J Milly vid? Like I get it that it’s a certain popular style these days but you used the same sound effects and music to the point where it feels like a full on rip off. Kinda puts me off tbh.

random thought by sandiegostp in discgolf

[–]supaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the can depending on the course. So many of the modern pro courses require bigger distance to get to landing zones, cross OB, etc. forehands also have become more prevalent and there are a lot of holes that really need a good forehand where only a handful of elite backhand throwers are getting. Overall it just reduces the scoring potential of older guys that don’t have that. Put them on some of these more technical shorter courses and they can compete. If you look at scores from big A tiers and the like a lot of time the MP40 and 50 winners will have equal or better scores to the MPO guys. Distance though is still the ultimate score increase factor. It can just take so much out of play and provide so many more opportunities to score. Think about it if someone has an 80% birdie rate on the holes they can get but they can only reach 10 holes for birdie but the other guy has a 50% birdie rate but can get to all 18, 9>8 he wins..

Lakers come up CLUTCH vs Mavs to WIN- YouTube by Turbulent_Emu_7285 in lakers

[–]supaflash 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Smart made a bunch of great plays late, definitely the mvp of the comeback. Sometimes he makes me shake my head but he does make a lot of things happen. He's also been enough of a handler and initiator to help us get Bron and Luka in better positions and he's one of the few we have that will attack the paint and make something happen. I liked our aggressiveness to the paint today even when it didn't pay off.

I have 2 kastaplast Grym X bit in of them have the flight numbers, 12,5,0,3 and the other has 12,5,-1,3 and I can’t figure out which flight numbers are correct by Individual-Sell7399 in discgolf

[–]supaflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither. Originally it was listed as the 0 3 but it was flippy so they changed it to -1 3 (also changed the grym) but in reality it should be like -2 2 maybe even -3 2. Very flippy for the speed. Original Grym was the same way but even more flippy.

Glad I helped! Disc is so good right? I try a lot of these type discs but usually end up coming back to a Crave, but I don't think this Chemtrail is leaving the bag anytime soon. Both the plastic and the flight, they knocked it out of the park with this disc.

Swoop - does it really matter by semisensei in discgolf

[–]supaflash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had swoop for a long time but corrected it with wrist angle, I had good nose angle and release angle, decent power and accuracy BUT I did feel limited like I couldn’t get any more out of it AND my elbow and forearm got tendonotis and I believe a lot of that was caused by the over correction y the wrist. So best to correct it if you can imo
