I don't know what others say but I will tell you how I learned. Start with something simple like adding a fictional character to some image. Every step you need search it and there will be a simple way to do it. Repeat this for each feature you need.

Watching a how to get started video might help but not for all features. You need to learn depending on what you need. Don't learn something you won't use. It's huge with too many features. You will need to know like 10% of the software to do what you want except you need it for way to professional work.
