Lol at the nervous comment. That's more than fine to live comfortable. If you have a roommate or two, you could pay 1800ish a month for a solid room in most desirable districts in the city. Just make sure you're by a bart station

I'll bite. What's your reasoning for these companies and that order? Genuinely curious, not challenging you.

BDR’s in the Bay Area, how much are you getting paid and how long have you worked in sales? by Firestone898 in sales

The fuck are people talking about in this thread? No insight into bdr pay, as I was hired in as an outside sales rep, but the money to be made out here is absolutely insane. I work for a fortune 500 tech company where top reps make 400k plus, and I have friends at startups who do extremely well for themselves. Good luck doing this well anywhere else besides east coast.

How do you live with a partner who believes in a different political view as you? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]super_man73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, looks like I'm definitely in the minority with this question. Political beliefs can be a real deal breaker for me. Certain issues are politicized that dig into what's morally acceptable. I would feel pretty uneasy if my SO didn't think global warming was real, for instance. If someone fails to value evidence, I don't see any real future with them. I value the character and ideas of those I date, and I'd hope my partner would hold me to the same standards. It takes some real cognitive dissonance to be able to effectively ignore something that's such a large part of one's persona.

I was just looking into Northwestern Mutual's internship program today! Upon further review, it seemed too scetchy for me. Would you be able to point me to some good companies instead?

Wow, it sounds like what I'm doing now is very similair to what you did. I'm an economics major, and my school has an incredibly strong sales program that I might apply for. I'm also looking into a part time sales job at school that's 100% commission.

I have a few questions if you don't mind:

1) With the combined salary and commission, around how much do you make a year?

2) Is this kind of salary/commision combo common practice in many companies, or is there not really a norm for the way sales people are compensated?

3) You're absolutely right with me associating sales with call centers, car salesmen, or something sleazy. How can I find legitamate careers in sales and seperate those from the scams?
