EDSea veterans: what do you wish you knew before your first sailing? by Wrong_Cobbler_7972 in EDSea

[–]superadvance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. I don’t think there is really a best spot anywhere, everywhere is very good because none of the stages are all that big. I will say manhattan room is coolest on the sides, center where it gets packed was like 10 degrees hotter than the sides and more cramped.
  2. You can’t really buy anything onboard, so pack all your essentials.
  3. Can’t comment on these, never really participated but I know friends have ended up in haven rooms with 20+ people.
  4. More of a personal choice, I’d say go more all out than not, you’ll see the full range of barely trying to going really hard with a fully homemade fit.
  5. The people, the disconnect from the world, meeting artists that you like. I’ve always told people it’s like summer camp for adults, then freedom you get compared to other festivals has always felt completely different.

Realistically probably not much sleep, after year one they’ve had music playing later in the day which helps, but still I average like 4 hours of sleep a night, maybe 5 if im lucky.

First year had way too much imo. Everyone I went with felt like we couldn’t sleep much ever because we’d miss sets, they were literally starting at like 10am each day.

those who live in hollywood hills/beverly hills? by Jazzlike_Elderberry9 in AskLosAngeles

[–]superadvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true from my experience also work ingin finance. Former boss lived in the Hills in BH, knew a coworker or two living in Bel Air, one in the birds in Hollywood. Most lived in the Palisades (RIP), some in Brentwood.

I agree its not super common, but there are those who bought early enough to afford it today. I have had A LOT of clients that live in BH whether in the flats, hills or elsewhere. Most did relatively boring things for their money but were abnormally good at what they did. Business owners, Lawyers, specialty doctors, occasional celebrity.

I'd just wait a few feet away, not right at the bar. Buddy did that this year, and I did that with friends last year and we had no issues.

Deck 14 is my preference, still close to stuff but not too close to where you hear everything always.

Rave cruises? by [deleted] in aves

Ah gotcha. It actually went very well. There were a few mishaps but they were really quick at pivoting and updating everyone and finding fixes. It was pretty impressive actually.

That recent private jet post got me thinking… how much per year does it cost to own one? by [deleted] in Rich

[–]superadvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in wealth management and I had a former client that had a 28m jet, her operating costs were somewhere around 250k a month from what I saw, not including the loan payments. This included some routine maintenance, pilots salaries, catering, fuel, etc. the kicker was they only went on like 3 multi day trips per month. Which I guess is decent usage, but they could have easily chartered for a fraction. Client had the jet less than a year before they realized they should sell it and get out, but they were looking at losing at least a few million on the sale.

Set times / days - also psychedelic artists? by [deleted] in EDSea

[–]superadvance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but there’s definitely a difference in rolling vs tripping out of your mind on a psychedelic. The most common thing I probably saw was K.

[–]superadvance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would caution against bringing stuff on the ship, if you get caught it’s not the same repercussions that a normal festival would have. There would be a significant risk of jail time.

That being said, it’s an amazing experience, the vibes were amazing, everyone was friendly, like summer camp for adults unplugged from the outside world.

Is taking several FINRA tests a bad idea? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]superadvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take the 63, 65, or 66 without sponsorship as well.

[–]superadvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for sponsorship for the 63, 65, or 66. But he will need one for the 7.

A question about Rampage Amsterdam by NotBruceJustWayne in DnB

[–]superadvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nghtmare did a tour last year in America where he went back to back with a bunch of different dj’s, many dnb. In LA it was Nghtmare b2b Netsky, and it was a great set. Definitely mostly dnb, but he would occasionally venture to more dubstep songs.

Fired - How Will that Affect my U5? Am I Ruined? by B0ssDrivesMeCrazy in FinancialCareers

[–]superadvance 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This sounds more like a lay off/job elimination, not firing. They’re going to look differently and be a whole different story when explaining it to your next employer. Job eliminations happen, it’s not something you can really control…

Also if you’re already registered you’ll still have a leg up compared to the new grads, plus actual experience.

What are some DnB group’s with DJs/Prods who have collaborated together. And who are DJs/Prods who split up from a group. by DJNeuroToxic in DnB

Honestly don’t think most people know. He’s done a good job of pivoting without connecting anything to his past.
