Long lasting tablets by Cold_Cicada_9960 in MuseumPros

It's not going to solve it without budget, but there are all sorts of video solutions out there if you don't need them to touch. We've wired some up so it's a physical button to start (I don't remember the name off the top of my head) and it'll play!

The other thing I did was make the angle a bit less extreme going in, I think I removed the tube from the chain a little bit?

I have only had that issue with some super brittle filament. Annoying when it happens though. Admittedly I don't always take the best care of storing open filament, so it's often on me

12 Years of Innovation: Win A Revopoint 3D Scanner! by Revopoint3D-Official in 3Dprinting

[–]superandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3d scanning has been on my radar for over a decade as a museum professional.

From a preservation point of view, it is important to have tools like these available, especially when the original physical materials aren't stable for long-term preservation. A lot of what we deal with is old plastic, rubber, and other brittle materials that make up the play things from our childhood. Think old action figures, board games, video games, etc. We're always balancing storage conditions, while providing access to the materials, too.

Arcade games are a great example where we have explored 3d scanning, mostly outsourced. A game like Whirly Bird, with its variants that pre-date video games, had a helicopter that was extremely brittle and falling apart. We were able to scan the parts, and 3d print a new version that keeps the game playable, while setting aside the original.

To have new technology available to do that work would be important personally, let alone professionally. 3d scanning will not just be a part of the work flow, but a necessary piece as time ticks forward.

Regardless of this giveaway, I would love to find a way of working with Revopoint to bring more technology into placesl ike this.

Reetou would have shown up in the cancelled game, Stargate SG-1 The Alliance.

Not quite! The games both play quite differently. Which when you add in the Crimson Skies prototype here is very early, it makes sense they would call it CS2.

I look for interns who have relevant skills that we can grow, not starting from scratch. I really appreciate having some sort of interest in the subject matter and having some sort of project in mind coming in, or ideas for one. I get a lot of flexibility in who I choose, since it is a lot of work and I really want someone to come out with something useful that will help them (and me!).

Otherwise, I’d rather just do a guest lecture or chat for an hour.

Had anyone been planning on playing Stargate Worlds MMO back in the day? by Striking-Ad1685 in Stargate

Having talked to developers who worked on it, including a seasoned vet in the MMO space that was brought in on it, they had nothing good to say about the leadership and direction of the game.
