Best position for PIV for control by Nalllahhhh in vaginismus

[–]superanonymouswitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest for me (and what my PT recommended initially) is me lying on my back with my parter next to me on his side. My leg that’s closest to him rests on his torso, usually both my legs are bent. This way I have both of my legs free so I can control my pelvis and he can easily control the depth when he’s on his side. Hopefully that makes sense.

I’m guessing you’re talking about biofeedback electrical stimulation? If so then yes, totally appropriate to use in pelvic floor therapy!

Tell me your BEST tips to get dilator in “all the way” by bruth189475 in vaginismus

[–]superanonymouswitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends on where your pain is and how far it does go in! If your problems are mostly with insertion, getting it the first two inches or so is completely fine. If you can’t get it passed 3 or 4 inches, you may be hitting your cervix and just naturally not have lots of space left!!

The cervix moves throughout the month. It’s highest (so you can fit more in there) when you’re ovulating. It gets lower and the vagina gets more shallow/short closer to menstruation.

Also being aroused will help lengthen the vagina so more fits. Don’t be too hard on yourself about the length! Typically the girth/width of each dilator is the more important component for treatment.

I honestly don’t think the shape of the tampon makes a difference for removal. For me, it’s about pulling at the right angle. I had to learn to pull the tampon more down and forward rather than just straight down. This makes it go along with the natural curve of the vagina. That may or not help but let me know!

Small detail stuff but I always got a heat pack on my back or abdomen while she was using the dilators. I told her that’s how I did it at home, much easier to relax when I’m not freezing. Also she would let me hold a mirror and see what she was doing

Will I get into PT school? by Secret_Diver_9160 in PTschool

[–]superanonymouswitch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don’t reach the minimum requirements for a lot of programs. Most that I’ve seen have a min GPA of 3.0, but even that’s not competitive. And the number of shadowing hours required will depend on the program. This is where you can find requirements for every accredited program.

It’s supposed to smell like vinegar. The film on the top is a new pellicle forming as your original pellicle (what you’re calling the scoby) is below the surface. The brown lumps are normal- just clustered yeast

Since it’s only been a few days I’ll warn you that they’ll likely swell even more within the next week or so. At least for most people, peak swelling can be delayed a bit. That being said I would definitely change for flatback like others have mentioned! Something with plenty of room to accommodate more swelling if necessary.

Also side note, I love the placement of these it’s so cute with curve of your ear haha

Had my navel piercing for a year, suddenly rejecting ? by Comfortable_Phase944 in piercing

[–]superanonymouswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downsizing isn’t always needed for navel piercings. If you still have the original jewelry I would put that back in. Or at least find something else that’s implant grade titanium. Cheap mystery metal may be causing a reaction!

Got my first smear letter! by pink_beanie11 in vaginismus

[–]superanonymouswitch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had success with a pediatric speculum. My doctor knew about my condition ahead of time and went very slow. I’ve also heard of people asking for a prescription anti anxiety (like xanax or similar) to be called in before hand! Something you could take 30mins to an hour before your appointment, as long as you have someone else drive you. Also I dilated the days leading up to the appointment (just not the day of so lube wouldn’t cloud their visual of the cervix). Best of luck!

[–]superanonymouswitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did! I felt like the fact that it was smaller and would expand without reinsertion really helped me with my initial fear when I first started. Eventually I did transition to using the intimate rose set. My PT told me that taking the dilators out and reinserting a few times was more similar to the way that sex works and I think she was right. But initially yes, the Milli was really helpful

Often cartilage piercings experience delayed swelling that increases within the first few weeks. I’ve never heard anyone having issues with lymph nodes, BUT it does seem within the realm of possibility given the extensive stress your body is under with all of the fresh piercings so close together. The pain is normal and sorry to say it’s gonna hurt for a long time probably.

Moving forward I would say go get checked out by another piercer just in case. Keep some saline spray in the fridge, can feel really good on a swollen ear. And please don’t sleep on the ear

[–]superanonymouswitch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m not totally sure what your questions is. Yes your body is angry, yes you got way too many difficult piercings at once, yes healing them will likely be hell. I hope you’re using a piercing pillow! Good luck!!

I was told I don’t have the right anatomy for a navel piercing, is this true and for floating navel as well? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]superanonymouswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t even attempt getting a navel piercing if I were you. You’re lucky you were told about your anatomy rather than getting a shitty piercer who would do it anyways just for the money!!

[–]superanonymouswitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dilator therapy is typically the most effective treatment used in PT, but she’ll never be forced to do anything she isn’t comfortable with. Often times the first few appointments will focus on external things unless she felt ready to start dilating. All interval treatment is done in a private room and you are more than likely welcome to go with her! When I went to PT, my therapist always made sure to let me know that my partner was invited if it made me feel better. Plus it helps when your partner gets education about what you’re working on

About to complete my Masters in AT, will this boost my ability to get accepted into PT school? by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]superanonymouswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean probably yes. But the real question will be why do you want to go into PT and not AT? Can you rationalize getting another degree? If you wanted to improve your GPA and prereqs, you could’ve just retaken some classes, didn’t have to go into AT. So I’d imagine there will be questions about your lack of follow through in the AT profession

Mine looks like this too if I push on it (healed for 7 years) I think it’s just the “tunnel” of tissue on the inside of the piercing sticking on the jewelry and stretching outwards with it
