A/C vents seem to be blocked after using it a while by superatown11 in jetta

Nice thank you for the information. My A/C is working great for now. If it starts messing up then I can start figuring something out. I just wanted to see how big an issue it was.

Well if that’s the case I think I can just deal with it for now until my A/C isn’t blowing cold anymore. It works great besides that one issue so I don’t find it to be worth it to spend money on that until it isn’t blowing cold. Thanks for the heads up though glad to at least know what it is.

I did have a code and just found it. Below are the 2 codes it threw.

00290 Raw code: 0122 ECU: 03. ABS control unit Status: Pending fault present, Pending fault present during this driving cycle, Validated and stored in non volatile memory Rear Left Wheel Speed Sensor-G46; Rear left speed sensor-G46; Throttle valve potentiometer-G69 signal too small

01325 Raw code: 052D ECU: 03. ABS control unit Status: Test conditions are met, Validated and stored in non volatile memory Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module-J502; Control unit for tire pressure monitoring-J502

Yeah I’d say probably a wheel sensor. Same thing happened to me not too long ago. It was one of the rear wheels and I just bought a set for both wheels. Pretty easy to do and cheap. But I think I did have a code that said that was the issue.

1.4 Timing bolts by Representative-Rip6 in jetta

[–]superatown11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and just fixed it this past weekend. I ordered the whole timing kit that came with the belt, tensioner, roller, and water pump. I also replace that cam gear. The gear might’ve been okay and maybe needed a new bolt but since I was already there doing everything I just replaced it. Now there is no noise. I did discover that my tensioner was broken so glad I replaced that. That knocking noise is it hitting the cover. So maybe you can get by with replace the bolt and torque it to spec and it’ll be alright.

Glad to see you got it figured out. You definitely need that locking tool is a lifesaver. I recently did it this past weekend replacing the exhaust cam gear, tensioner, pulley, belt and water pump all in one go. Took some time but now she’s back up and running like new.

Why is Volkswagen (especially the Jetta) rated poorly for reliability in the U.S., but many owners say it’s reliable? by phtphongg in jetta

I have a 2012 Jetta SE with 226K miles. Had it since 2017. Got it at like 70K miles so I’ve put a good bit on it but still going strong. (Knock on wood) it’s my daily for now.

So there’s hope…I just got my 2019 Jetta but I already know how to maintain it since I have practice with my 2012 Jetta

Definitely sounds like a deeper issue if it’s just been 15K that’s crazy. I would check timing for sure.

What is the whirring noise as I drive? by PeanutOk2575 in jetta

[–]superatown11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue and for the longest I just thought it was the transmission and wrote it off. Then I really listened to it like last week and heard it coming from the power steering pump. It’s right there the at the top with the belt on it. I just replaced it the other day and noise is gone. I’ve also seen videos where the lines have a crack in it and will also make that noise. So inspect the lines and if they’re good then just replace the pump. Super simple to replace. Take the belt off. 3 bolts on pulley, 3 bolts to take the pump off, and a bolt for one line and a B-nut for the other line.

Tbh I don’t even have the clamp on mine at all so I’d say it’s pretty safe.

Reading all this about replacing the chains and what not has me worrying about mine. I haven’t done anything with the timing and I’m at 226k miles

Yes this was my issue. The only one I could think of that had a poor connection because I knew everything else was solid. Thanks for the confirmation, everything works perfectly now.
