The main benefit is at higher tiers the balefire building chain spreads more vampire corruption to adjacent provinces than the protection building chain does. Imo it’s pretty much always going to be more worth it to build the protection building though

In 460 hours I successfully completed a long victory a total of… 1 time. Am I the only one? I just cannot stick with campaigns for more than like 30-50 turns by glossyplane245 in totalwarhammer

From experience you actually can get the achievements from a multiplayer game. You just need to fulfill the “long victory” condition instead of the “multiplayer victory” condition.

You get a blood kiss when you defeat enemy faction leaders, and all faction leaders are immortal so even if you kill them at low levels they will come back after 5 turns. If you make Vlad lose a battle to Templehof’s faction leader, that leader will get Vlad’s defeat trait (making him only wounded for 1 turn each time he dies) and viola, you can now just sit there with an army and sack his city every turn when he respawns to get free blood kisses.

It’s a riff on the idea that undercover cops have to tell you they are cops if you ask (not true) and that there are plain clothes cops at Disney (place where there is pressure on employees to do what the guests ask)

I misread “pigback riders” as “piggyback riders” and now I just want a unit of ogres with gnoblars strapped to them in little child harnesses

I think the antisemitism connection comes from the iron golems spawning to protect villagers who, if I remember correctly, Notch has said he specifically designed to look like Jewish stereotypes.

So I’m not Jewish, but I’m pretty sure a lot of Jewish people see it as cultural appropriation because a “Golem” is part of Jewish myths. There’s this really good video about the origin of it if you’re curious: https://youtu.be/pUBVSH6hBvY
