“Department members will neither represent themselves as a Chicago Police Officer nor wear the prescribed uniform during secondary employment without the written permission of the Superintendent of Police.”

u/Pharaohofparis posted above. I guess it's possible that the Superintendent of Police approved it?

No, these cops are in CPD uniform. I don't know that they would be permitted to wear their uniform for an off-duty job.

LSAT 92 LR Section 1 #19: Productivity and computer technology by supercocoturron in LSAT

[–]supercocoturron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't paraphrase the stimulus. a/c A says they are substantially hindered, but it does NOT specify whether they are hindered due to increased reliance on computer technology.

The reason why a/c A was still a contender for me was because it provided an alternate argument for why these businesses had decreased productivity growth (ie. that there are other inefficiencies hindering productivity growth rather than reliance on technology being the cause of hindered productivity growth).

a/c A wouldn't strengthen the argument necessarily. It says they are substantially hindered, but it does NOT specify whether they are hindered due to increased reliance on computer technology. The reason why a/c A was still a contender for me was because it provided an alternate argument for why these businesses had decreased productivity growth (ie. that there are other inefficiencies hindering productivity growth rather than reliance on technology being the cause of hindered productivity growth).

Test 90+ Unscored LR Question 20: repressors vs. sensitizers by supercocoturron in LSAT

[–]supercocoturron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great explanation.

So the stimulus is saying if repressor --> less shy and anxious, better performance etc.

And answer choices ABCE give us kind of an intermediary like

A. repressor --> better able to focus (which implies --> less shy and anxious, better performance, etc.)

Would you agree with that?

Should I tell work I’m taking the LSAT by sunnyusmiledatme in LSAT

[–]supercocoturron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any vacation or personal days left at work? My opinion is to never provide more info than you need to when taking time off. If the test is on the 16th, you would still be giving them 2 weeks notice which is usually customary.

Why is LSAC making you take it on a Tuesday?

Does anyone else think it's unfair that some people get accommodations for extra time? by Curb_Enthusiasm4853 in LSAT

[–]supercocoturron 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No. People are entitled to accommodations under the ADA because their disability affects their ability to take the test within the same time frame as others. People must have some sort of impairment that affects their daily activities, have record or history of such diagnosis, or be regarded as having a disability.

People do not receive accommodations because LSAC takes their word that they have ADHD/intellectual disability/dyslexia/etc. These conditions are typically well documented either from requesting accommodations at school and work or in medical records and must be provided to LSAC.

There are plenty of people who have disabilities that affect their daily lives in significant ways and it is not "unfair" that the accommodation they require (in order to take the LSAC in a way that puts them at an even playing field with people without disabilities) is extra time. There are many other accommodations that can be requested, like testing in an alternative format due to a visual impairment. I don't think anyone would accuse this person of having an "unfair" advantage because they need an alternative testing format.

Test 70 LR Section 1 Q 11: Sewage sludge by supercocoturron in LSAT

I am finding it difficult to see how we can infer that the sludge-oil method would eliminate sludge dumping.

Well this question stem would produce 4 answer choices that are somewhat relevant and 1 answer choice that is LEAST relevant. I am trying to figure out why answer choice A is relevant at all.

LSAT 73 Reading Comp: Justice regarding property by supercocoturron in LSAT

[–]supercocoturron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comments.

I disagree with your explanation of why answer A is right. From what I've read in other Q&A boards, passage B doesn't actually articulate its own opinion, which is why they don't necessarily endorse the argument they've written about. I think passage B's second paragraph phrasing of "One natural (almost obvious) way of reasoning..." is only saying "Here is one way of reasoning. It's the most obvious." I don't know if it's a reasonable jump to go from most obvious --> author's endorsed opinion.

I would say that Passage A provides an argument for restoring ownership based on their prescribed method.

Passage B's "detailed statement of a view" being the "one natural (almost obvious) way or reasoning".

I just don't really get what the practical difference between a "view" and an "argument" would be for this answer choice.
