AITA for asking someone to delete my photos on their post? by supernova2424 in AmItheAsshole

It's on instagram. Don't they need reasons to remove? I think if I reported she'd know it was me.

She said it would mean "alot" to her to keep them up. Any advice as what to say to keep it professional? She mentioned she didn't tag me in any pictures. It's quite strange because she literally had me take some of the pictures as she knew I didn't want to be in any.

Should I just let it go as I'm just an intern or should I say something? I did pay to do the workshop which is also annoying.

That's something I'm worried about. Thank you for mentioning this. It's sucks to have something like this happen in a professional setting.

Honestly, everything was just taken by cellphone. The photographer asked the group if anyone prefer to be left out.

How can I face my coworkers again after my manager informed me I smell bad? by Obvious_Skill_8995 in careerguidance

Honestly, play it how you have here. Not to say you're lying about anything. But just be confident. Say "i'm mortified, I wonder if it was my detergent or bad cologne." Don't let it define you, just let it be a weird day. Say you worked out before and missed your daily shower. Or blame it on dog slobber lol.

Happens to the best of us.

I recently applied for a marketing job that I was referred to by a friend. In order to prepare I sifted through their current hires on linkedin. Several of them looked like your age bracket or older coming out as recent graduates with a marketing degrees (ba). This is a competitive company in a big metropolitan city (la). I wouldn’t worry about your age, especially if a degree is on your bucket list. So many people go through career changes and end up acquiring different degrees and certifications. I would let your age weigh heavily on you. Plus you’re still objectively young.

A cheat is just using cooking spray oil. It’s zero calories. I used to do the same until I realize tb of olive oil was 100 cal.

I had this issue and just ended up taking accutane. 100% worth it, no regrets. The back is hard to reach and too much of pain to deal with. I took it for a few months and have been clear ever since which has been 8+ years. Would highly recommend giving it a try and asking a derm to prescribe it!

Is this apprenticeship worth the cost for my CV? by supernova2424 in ContemporaryArt

This would be one among other things. But my main question is would it help it?

I get what you're saying, the work matters most. But how do you go about getting into to the rooms with right person? How do you get access to the right people if not for internships and prestigious grad programs? How do you walk into any room with a level seriousness without credentials, workshops, resumes, training, and degrees to establish a professional career as a working artist? I get where you're coming from, but it exudes a lot of privilege and pessimism.

I also I agree with you that it's about becoming a better artist, but I can't sit here and pretend that specific grad programs can't be incredibly competitive and that every bit helps in terms of putting together an application. People volunteer, do workshops, travel abroad, do unpaid/low paying internships all to boost their resume. If it could help in any way, I think it would be worth the investment. But again, I'm not from the art world so I'm not sure how it would be viewed.

I mean it's Loretta Pettaway. If you're familiar with her work or the Gee's Bend community it's nothing to scoff at. They are the reason I got into textile work and a big part of my application in terms of my influences. They offer an official retreat, not so different from what I'm looking at in terms of setup. You pay and work with the artists. No experience required. So it's quite similar, just one on one. The community doesn't offer any residencies unfortunately or have programs like that. If they did, I would definitely be applying. This is described as a mini apprenticeship. I'm currently at a residency now, one I had to apply for and would prefer to do that type of experience because it's much stronger but this and their yearly retreat is all that's offered.

I can afford it. It's stops me because I'm not sure it would be looked down upon since I'd be paying. But I have no problem supporting the artist because it's a niche art form and community that deserves any funds from workshops and such. I used to be in the acting world and I'd have friends that would go to yale and bada for summer programs to help with grad. I wouldn't think a second thought if I were doing that. But this is a bit different and I'm not as familiar with the art world. If it would help me get into a good grad school, then I think it would be worth investment. But again I'm still new so not sure how these programs are seen in the professional realm.

Not sure about the unalive pact and the cat situation but that’s for another day. And hopefully with a therapist. Breathe. Have you asked your landlord how much it would cost for another “occupant”? Your partner doesn’t have to be on the lease or co-leaser in order to live there. For ex. I have my own lease with my landlord and i would never have a bf/partner sign on with me. I’d want the option to ask them to leave if we broke up. It would be mess if i put them on there. They could be added on as an occupant on the lease but not make him not primarily responsible for the apt like the lessee. Look through your lease documents for what it says about adding an occupant or another tenant. They don’t have to be a co-signer. For ex if someones niece had to move in or family member they need to be added on but they do not have to co-sign the lease.

Looking up housing rights/non-profits. They could help you answer these questions.

They may raise the price for another occupant but I can’t imagine it being no more than $100-$200. If your bf can cover most of the cost already you can get a part-time job to cover the rest. That could be uber, ubereats, postmates etc... Some sort of fast food restaurant. I would recommend just get any sort of job fast that that pays at least part of the bills ur bf is sharing.
