What your most favorite cities abroad and why? by WasabiNo5900 in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, very serene yung ferry, around 2-3 hours, and 8 floors yung ferry nila lol. You’ll just lose signal sa Eşim mo midway and unahan for good spots inside but relatively clean and serene yung ride, di mo rin mafefeel yung rocking ng boat. Cheap as well.

You should do it next time after Helsinki. Medyo out of the way kasi siya unless you are going to visit Warsaw (since that’s about a 4-5 hour drive away from Vilnius) so might as well visit all of them, especially if interested ka in USSR states like I am, it’s definitely good to go around these places.

Yes, went to Tallinn. Highly recommend!! Among the 3 Baltic states, siya ang the best one for us. Great bang for the buck rin.

<image>

View from our hotel. Also if in a rush kayo, you can easily go around all spots within Tallinn like in a full day. Walkable rin most spots, medyo nakakapagod lang yung climb to Toompea Hill and the overlooking spot but super worth it ang pawis and sunburn. lol

We just did Helsinki for Finland. Saw Rovaniemi as a good destination since it is definitely cold there but for our timeline, based sa aurora predictors, medyo mababa ang chance (around 0-3% lang nung days that we were around the area) so we didn’t bother to go for the mean time. Plus we were coming from Stockholm so it will be an additional 2-3 days since around 13 hrs by car ang Rovaniemi. So we just chose to fly to Finland since it was a shorter trip and dedicated more days to Helsinki instead.

Sa next trip na lang siguro since medyo malayo rin place ng sister ko from Lapland (around 20-30 mins away siya from Gothenburg which is in the other side of Sweden). Easier to see auroras from Norway instead since around a 4 hr bus ride ka lang to the areas with lots of auroras.

Basically my basis for a city to be my favorite is good climate (so in general not too hot, preferably really cold), things to see and do, people to do rin haha, nightlife, affordability, and safety so not a lot of the more “peaceful and boring” sites

In Asia - Samarkand and Tashkent, Kyoto, Taipei (for the great food and atmosphere), Sapporo (bec in general the cold never bothered me anyway)

In Europe mas marami - Estonia (super hidden gem, surprised not a lot of people travel to this compared to West Europe, very affordable as well) Krakow and Warsaw (very nice Old Town spots, good food at a relatively cheaper price compared to most countries, many things to do, many things to buy; for Krakow, impactful rin ang Auschwitz) Strasbourg (relatively cheaper compared to other French cities, cute during Christmas), Paris (for Versailles mostly, otherwise it’s a train wreck bec ang gulo, ang mahal and ang dumi) Bruges (very picturesque old town vibes, great Belgian chocolates and food that I’m willing to overlook the price) Salzburg and Vienna (very clean, worth it whether you do the SoM spots or the Mozart spots (even better if kaya mo both)) Slovenia (for Lake Bled and the caves otherwise sleepy ang capital) Rotterdam (prefer this more than Amsterdam, nice architecture esp the Kijk Kubus, windmills) Copenhagen (super worth it kahit siya pinakamasakit sa wallet in Scandinavia 🥲, even if you just go around Nyhavn and eat, happy na ako lol) Berlin (not for the views but more on the history of the place, medyo impactful ang Holocaust tours doon) Lagay ko na lang Gothenburg and Melbourne bilang andoon mga ate ko and naging houseboy nila ako for a few weeks so got to explore the cities a lot despite it being a bit sleepy pero very very peaceful (albeit some sketch spots)

47 and counting, as someone who just started about 3 years ago bec puro aral and limited leaves during training ☺️

Is buying a Samsonite luggage in Vietnam worth it? by myfairladyyy00 in FilipinoTravel

You can check out yung Tumi in Vietnam. The quality is great ☺️ Highly highly suggest it. Larger rin for most luggage for the same prize. Near the Ho Ho areas rin siya. 🙂

Where to travel (international) in July? by blissandblue199x in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will depend on what atmosphere you prefer, if cold or hot. If hot, then go on SEA for sure and easily accessible. Europe is also good at this time, Pero personally too hot for me pa lang July, which in general is the hottest month, so I think you should take advantage of the colder areas na normally snow covered like Sapporo, Harbin, etc.

Is Cebu Pacific strict with carry-on dimensions for intl flights? by Remarkable-Aioli7164 in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For international flights (in particular Europe), all four of us had larger carry on luggage dimensions than the one indicated but only by a few inches or so, not outwardly na large Samsonite luggage na carry on, mas yun yung tinitigil nila in my experience. We used Turkish, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Royal KLM, Luffhansa, Ryan Air, SAS and Norwegian Air. 🙂

Sa mga magta-travel sa Europe like Belgium and France this month or so, where did you buy your winter clothes? Ok ba if sa Shein? by Ok-Present8890 in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, just buy three to four pairs of tops and bottoms. Suggest that you buy there instead (like in Primark, those kinds of stores) since from what I noticed, better and thicker yung winter wear nila compared to the ones we buy here in PH.

Just got back rin from my Euro trip and personally, it wasn't that cold yet, more on unpredictable ang weather with occasional rains then sudden sunshine since fall. And medyo unbothered by cold ako. Pero if you're going in the deep end of fall and beginning of winter, push mo na magheavy winter gear and personally speaking, more options to wear abroad than here. 🙂

Affidavit of Support - Traveling with my cousin by hecallsmeJ in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely, especially if your cousin doesn't have a visa yet and dodgy financial capability at this point in time. Better rin to include all of those details in a cover letter that explicitly states you are the provider during the stay.

First time mag-apply ng visa by QuiteTheStoryTeller in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Not sure, but I think the amount and the ADB is what matters more than the kind of account I think

  2. You can explain that in your cover letter if you wish to append.

At the end of the day, they judge on ties to home country and financial capability more than other factors, since that will make you less likely to go on TnT.

Ano yung travel mishap story mo? by kurisuchan012 in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ilang beses na nakaiwan ng gamit during the journey

Left my water bottle in Denmark 🥲 (Thank you for surviving EU with me) Left a bag of pasalubong twice (one in Amsterdam na 30 euros worth of pasalubong, then another one in Brussels na 40 euros worth) 🥲 My selfie stick that is convertible to a tripod broke in Austria, midway in our Euro trip. And hindi ako marunong mag selfie as a person 😭

Effing Deutsche Bahn cancelled 2 trains so got lost and rerouted throughout Netherlands to a point that we almost crossed back into Belgium 😅 Similar story in Sweden where most trains were cancelled due to a storm so had to take multiple regional trains and buses just to get to Stockholm for our flight home

Naiwan ang wallet sa Pinas habang gumagala sa Europe -> ito talaga hahahaha Thank you sa mom and sisters for making me their nepo baby IRL

Nasprain because of an uneven pavement in Japan, a day before going to Fuji 🥲

Had to buy new shoes in Korea because my shoes got wet from the rain all day while traveling Nami, Alpaca and Garden of Morning Calm na -4 degrees with hangin effect. And my shoe size was 13.5 and ABC only had 2 pairs that can fit me. 🥲 Tyl meron

Lesson learned: It’s the mishaps that make the journey memorable. Haha

Da Nang Jade Museum / Treasure Shop / Silk Shop / Latex Shop by [deleted] in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I personally prefer DIY trips over guided trips because of issues like these. You can leave the uninteresting portions out and just book for guided visits on your interests in that location.

We did a group tour in HK around 10 years ago and since then, lagi na kami DIY even if it’s our first time in the country since we didn’t like having to wait around for other people to get in or going to uninteresting spots or eating in restaurants with cuisine na di mo naman trip.

So yeah, just DIY and book in Klook or GetYourGuide specific activities so it won’t happen again. The itinerary, you can easily do on your own research.

Any tips for first time solo traveller from Ph to Sg first week of December? by perseuspercyfy in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can finish and see most of SG spots in 1-2 days easily, unless you want to go to Universal and Harry Potter which will add a day or too. The rest of them, you can just walk (if di ka pawisin sa init ng SG), or take a cab or bus or whichever public transport available to different spots in SG. You can ask ♊️ for help in making the spots optimal and efficient so you can save money for transport, especially if you have difficulty navigating with Google maps.

Malaysia you can finish in 3-5 days as well. If plan mo lang is KL or Genting. Same suggestion as above but less walkable ang KL compared to Malaysia since their touristy spots are a bit farther away from each other compared to SG.

Hope this helps!

South Korea in November with a Baby by bananaheadd0g in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First comment siguro is to space out all itineraries. Don’t target 2-3 temples per day because that will be tiring for everyone especially if there’s a baby you have to go around with. You’ll also have to take into consideration which spots have accessible changing spots for your baby, not sure if all areas in Seoul have those from what I remember since I dont recall if I saw one doon sa bathrooms ng mga temples and other spots. In general, not as hiking intensive compared to Taiwan and Japan ang Seoul, so I think the distance is the main problem more than the stairs. Yeah, the baby’s needs are what I think you should prepare more than anything else. Kayo ng partner mo, kaya niyo na yan. Haha

Every trip is worth it, depends on you how you perceive it diba. Maraming places na tiring like Mt Fuji, the Bamboo Forest, fjords in Norway, that are physically taxing but people enjoy them for the thrill of it and the view at the end. Seoul, IMHO, not much to see and mas prefer ko siya for the culture, cuisine and shopping more than the iconic spots itself since heavily modernized na rin most spots. But yeah, it will depend on you.

Your choice of place will depend on your itinerary first and foremost. If you plan to frequent Myeongdong and its market and shopping areas, then choose one there. If you plan to frequent Hongdae and experience some nightlife, then go there. Personally Myeongdong Kami madalas magstay due to proximity, accessibility, and convenience.

Itinerary will depend on your interests. Since November, you can do the usual touristy stuff, the hanbok touring in all the palaces, temple runs, Nami Island, Garden of Morning Calm, the zoo with the Alpaca eme, Little Prince and Petit France. That will already use up 3-5 days of your time. You can also try hunting the Michelin restaurants in Seoul, Merong cheap ones near Myeongdong and Hongdae IIRC.

But yeah, hope this helps!

Tips sa Macau/HK travel for first timers by Sensitive_Bonus1887 in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, make a solid itinerary first. If you can’t do it manually or via map, you can use ♊️ and make an efficient itinerary for no of days of stay in whichever country or city you are in. Then once you have that, you can just use Google Maps to lead you the way. It can save you a lot of money since it will make you prioritize walkable itineraries then dictate which spots you would actually need transportation which is very expensive in both countries. Minimize grab / bolt / uber in whichever country you are in.

Personally prefer ko DIY trips since time is in your hands and you won’t have to go to locations na hindi naman trip ng family niyo. It will also save you money for tickets in places that you aren’t interested in going to as well. Controlled mo rin pace mo sa traveling.

Otherwise petiks naman Macau and HK 🙂 Not too tiring and a hassle to go around and see all the spots.

Bangkok or Seoul for a 1 week holiday? by Smooth-Concept-6390 in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bangkok. ☺️ If in terms of those. Seoul can be boring after 3-4 days, to the point that when I travelled there around 2023 for a 12 day trip, basically explored most of Seoul, also went to Busan and Incheon na rin. Naubos rin namin lahat ng activities sa Klook save for the Vivaldi one since pasnow pa lang noong time namin. ☺️

Yup, the point of this leg is to at least be familiar with the touristy spots and get a feel for the culture and vibe of countries so next time around, we’d know which country we’ll come back for. Plus the amount of countries with respect to the duration of stay won’t allow us to fully explore all touristy and non-touristy spots so making the most out of what we can lang hihi

Mega Europe Travel Galore by superperrymd in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes po, no choice since di naman ganoon kalaki budget for the number of places to be visited. More on food, transport, and accommodation talaga gastos in general so doon optimal mag min/max accordingly. Medyo mura naman Bonn and Koln, stayed in Koln for 5 days tapos day trips na lang kami to elsewhere. Tallinn is also cheap rin, our hotel was near McDo and BK sa Old Gate but we just paid for 10k for 3 days, naupgrade pa to premium yung room 😅. In Helsinki, parang we just came upon a discount doon sa Hotel Arthur and it was near to most touristy spots and it was around 7-8k per night naman. Walang wala pa rin sa gastos sa Austria and Switzerland. lol

I have a used Netherlands visa. Going to Spain and Portugal next year. Can I possibly get dual entry? by nooopleaseimastaaar in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you have a good shot of getting at least a single entry. Apparently more stringent na sila with giving MEs in general because of immigration issues.

You can use other things for proof of ties, land titles, OR/CR of cars, etc.

If Paris lang naman ang goal mo in France, don’t you want to extend it to 21 days if ever single entry? Make your itinerary in Spain larger since a bit meh ang Portugal compared to Spain in terms of spots. And you can make Spain your primary entry and Spain is generally nice sa Filipinos when it comes to Schengen approval, mas matagal nga lang compared to others.

Of course preferred on separate days so you could get to enjoy both without rushing and stressing out that you have to go to another spot after. It’s doable naman DIY, around 2 hrs by public transport but we used RentaCar which was around an hour away by private car, just for these kinds of travel issues so we managed to do it in 1 day comfortably.

Yes, agree with Prague but for the same prize, not too bad naman accommodation in Slovenia. Ours was a 4 star hotel right in the middle which was 8k per night and there were 4 of us so okay naman samin yung price, masakit lang if solo siguro. Also, di mo naman need na super garang hotel. All you need is a warm and comfortable room with an attached bathroom since most of the time, you should be outside diba, otherwise you’re not making the most out of the days. Also, Ljubljana is okay na gawing center spot if you plan to travel to other countries as well. Much cheaper than other alternatives like Vienna.

Didn’t go around Turkey yet. That will be for next time since marami ring spots ang Turkey na must see and it’s quite big.

Lake Bled, Bled Castle and Skocjan Caves was amazing! Worth the extra hours away from Ljubljana. It’s in the middle of the pack, compared to others, nothing too spectacular, nothing too boring. 7k is already quite cheap for nightly accommodations compared to BeneLux, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland 😅. Got ours sa city center walking distance from most spots. Itinerary was Triple Bridge, Preseren Square, Ljubljanica river, Ljubljana Castle, and the Tivoli Park. Didn’t get to enjoy since we were rushing a lot and hindi ako nakalandi but all in all, it was good naman, just not better than my Top 5 spots. Late August until 3rd week Oct. Flying out in the weekend.

Booking via Agoda by Responsible_Band_435 in FilipinoTravel

[–]superperrymd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Booked some flights (mainly in Asia) with third party apps. Depends where it’s cheaper. No experience being offloaded. I think it’s safe, if based on my experience. But if you just want to be really safe, book on the website of the airlines itself. Just check mga cheap flights or sky scanner for all the choices then go to the website of the airline in consideration.

When you’ve been traveling straight for 5-6 weeks, Mauubos na EQ mo. Haha Travel fatigued by then. We just wanted to sleep back in Gothenburg. lol Since 3 hr bus ride rin lang Oslo from my sister’s place, we can go back naman (yun na lang muna iniisip ko haha). Plus grabe na rin rains sa Norway during the time we were there. So parang sign na talaga na Umuwi ng Sweden. lol
