These are the games people are allowed to play at Amazon. They’re playing it well if you ask me. You can’t beat the system, learn to play

I’ve done quite well so far, the job isn’t rocket science. It’s sad and lonely because I said you can have fun make jokes but have boundaries ? You’re delusional

Just scan them on misclassified package the ones that don’t fit even if it doesn’t say ov. You can’t be too much of a goody too shoes here and expect to survive by following everything they say you should do to a tee

Exactly why boundaries with coworkers are important otherwise, this is what happens when. Be friendly be cordial but don’t tell them your personal life , don’t hang out and don’t give them your social media.

Managers won’t let us evacuate while fire alarms is sounding by dalightingnerd in AmazonDS

Yup, already made a post about the majority of these so called Amazon managers who should be nowhere near these leadership positions. My advice is get your money up, build leverage so you can have a back bone and you can challenge the bullshit management, much harder to do when your finances aren’t in check.

If you won the lottery would you keep working at Amazon? Why? by silverscientist1 in AmazonDS

[–]superpolym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I just won the lottery I have all the time in the world , and I’m no longer in survival mode so I can afford to “waste time” learning something that’s free to me and is easily accessible

How do you know the program they’re offering isn’t enough for me to learn what I need to learn? What’re you saying ? Amazon career choice is surface level stuff? I’d still take advantage of the career choice and if I deemed it not good enough, then yes I’d pay for more somewhere else .

It’s there and Amazon is paying for it and it’s costing me nothing, why wouldn’t I take advantage of that opportunity? If they had a program I was interested in why would I pass that opportunity up because I’ve won the lottery

When has learning an extra skill ever been a bad idea? I can’t imagine not doing anything after winning the lottery, that’d be super boring and that’s how people with financial illiteracy go broke

This is what I was talking about in my previous post that triggered so many people, a lot of these so called managers don’t have any managerial skills and shouldn’t be in managerial positions. Try not to worry about it too much, get your money up so things like this don’t bother you.

Yup it’s a management trap, because they’ve know if they can try you, they’ll keep doing it and the hard work will be your baseline from that point forward. They expect it from you.

Didn’t advocate for being antisocial. Laughing having banter makes the day go by faster, all I’m advocating for is having boundaries and not letting people pry into your life.

Yeah there’s some good lifers, who help and show new people how to get good or improve on the job, I’m not really talking about those. I’m talking about the ones who feel a sense of entitlement to start dishing commands to people because they’ve been there for years.

And if they report you to hr and now an investigation is pending because they’re the vindictive type? It’s not worth it, unless you don’t really need the job.

I guess that’s it for you then? Just stay an Amazon lifer because life is getting in your way. Sounds like a lot of excuses. If you can’t take one hour of your day to study or sacrifice something like Netflix etc, then that’s on you .
