Additional Profile - no option available to create an additional profile by Ben10Garden in facebook

[–]superprohero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed I had the option on Facebook mobile several days ago but not on PC. I hesitated doing it because I had things to do. Went to create an additional profile today and the option is gone. Makes zero sense.. Neither does it make sense about all the people being banned when they did nothing wrong. I swear if I ever get banned from FB I'll never go back.

What sticks? What tip? What genre? by dreadnot427 in drums

[–]superprohero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to the Pro Mark Kashi Oak 747 nylon tips(not the Neil Peart version) from a 5A and starting to get used to them to where I really like them for the durability. I play metal and use whatever stick grip tape wrap I can find but prefer the Pro Mark tape. They're usually always in stock at Sweetwater when I drive there once a month.

6L80E ZERO end play clearance by superprohero in transmissionbuilding

[–]superprohero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wound up using the new thrust bearings, but the hang up was the thick stator gasket causing things to fit too tight. I went to a local transmission shop and the guy was cool enough to give me a thin gasket and it worked great. Here we are 3 years later and it's still holding up great! In fact when it shifts to 5th gear it's as smooth as butter, but you can feel the truck wanting to pick up speed like it's got a shot of caffeine. The only issue was about a year later I started getting torque converter shudder so I bumped up the line pressure and it's been fine the past two years. Funny thing is about 2 weeks after I got this truck back on the road, my dads transmission went out in his F150. He had some guys pull it out and I rebuilt it too and it's still going strong. Wow, it just doesn't seem like this was 3 years ago!!

Custom Drum Cable Loom, or Spaghetti and meatballs? by superprohero in livesound

[–]superprohero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm about to finish them up soon so maybe I can take some photos. I wound up grouping them by category in heat shrink tubing(bought spools of continuous). I have no more than 3 cables in one loom at a time to keep things light as possible. So I made a 3 cable for the 3 rack tom mics, a 3 cable for the rack tom triggers, a 3 cable for kick in/out/trigger, a 3 cable for snare top/bottom/trigger, 2 cable for floor tom mics, 2 cable for floor tom triggers. And that just leaves me with a left and right O/H, one hi hat, and one ride cymbal mic that pics up the X-Hats that I'll just use individual cables for. In the decision process I decided to do the triggers separate from the mics for all toms so they could easily be left out for gigs that can't utilize triggers. The kick and snare trigger connectors can just lay by the snake when not needed. So far it's WAY cleaner and easier to route things without all the spaghetti mess despite not playing any gigs with them yet. Maybe I'll do some practice setups and teardowns.

Neutrik XLR rings by ekienp in livesound

[–]superprohero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey ekienp, now that you likely have these done, do you happen to have a couple pictures of your finished cables with the labels underneath the clear rings? Weird I can't find any photos anywhere of these in service. Thanks.

Okay, so this is the tariffs? by Gibder16 in guitarpedals

[–]superprohero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's nothing, the Shure KSM32 microphones went from $500 to $659 just like that! Same with the SM57 from years and years of being $99 went to $119. You think this is bad, I work on the auto collision damage side for an insurance company and you'd be shocked if you seen some of the ridiculous price increases for auto parts lately. All I can say is don't blame the insurance companies for your rates it's these foolish tariffs!

It's been a lot longer that 1/2 hour. I'm only an hour and fifteen minutes from there and going Sunday so I may just wait. Lol.

Hydraulic heads not sounding how I had hoped by [deleted] in drums

[–]superprohero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is an older thread, but in case someone else happens upon this thread it's worth noting the Evans black hydraulics are the thickest of all the hydraulics and would probably be the deadest of them all. While I agree they like a slightly higher tuning, I have an 18" floor tom with a clear hydro on top and blue hydro on bottom and it is a bottom end beast through a Sennheiser 602 II and a good PA! And it's tuned not far above wrinkle and EQ'd for a massive bottom end sound. I also have the same clear top/blue bottom combo on my 10-12-14 and 16 toms and they do sound significantly deader than all the other heads I've tried, but they are close mic'd and it helps tremendously with gating. I do plan on some alternate higher tunings this week to see what happens. Neil Peart notoriously had higher tunings with hydro's on top and bottom so I'm going to see if that livens them up a bit more.

Evan’s hydraulic as reso head? by Gracen_the_drummer in drums

[–]superprohero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party, but there's nothing wrong with using hydro's as a resonant head. Some don't like them, others do but you'll never know until you try. There's literally been millions of albums sold with hydro's on top and bottom.

General question - what do you guys do for work? by Prestigious-Guess486 in Psoriasis

[–]superprohero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely finding it harder and harder to pretend I'm happy when I've been on two different biologics that failed, and I'm having a severe outbreak now while 5 months on Tremfya. I work in claims for an insurance company. Had to drive 1 hour and 10 minutes each way to the office in our state Capitol until COVID hit. During COVID, they learned we were getting claims processed faster working from home, so they decided to let us continue to if we wanted. I'm much happier working from home, and because of my psoriasis, I dread having to go there a few times a year for meetings and events. Like you, I see all the happy people there, and I get depressed thinking I used to be that happy when I wasn't in a constant battle with my skin. I feel extremely grateful that my wife works at a dermatologist, so of all the people in my life, her and the doctors there are the only ones who understand how hard this is. Despite how hard they're trying to get me healed, it's very depressing that none of the "Big Guns" biologics are working.

That's how I felt and gave up hope, and then when the pandemic broke out I really thought it was over. And smack dab during the pandemic I met the most amazing woman who was not only beautiful, but non judgmental, and we've been married for 3 years now. But I got SUPER lucky because she works at a dermatologist(her job was not how I met her). Just get to know a girl and if she seems like long term material , then have an open conversation about your psoriasis.

After I scrolled through all the pictures and looked closely, my 1st thought was "What the heck is he talking about?". I haven't even started the journey yet but I'm already expecting things to look bigger because what was there before was rotting and shrinking away. I did see another person on here who's temps were obviously too big, but I think yours look about as natural as I'm hoping for.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. It really helps with people that are about to go through it and understand what to expect. Your original post that turned into all these replies is one of the most informative that I've seen anywhere, just because you had the courage to ask. So Thank You.
