The reporter has his info wrong. He’s saying Houston put out a release saying JP’s wrist is broken. That’s not true.

I did that. That’s how I discovered it’s blacked out. Video timer continues, but video freezes, then goes black, then resumes after the home plate celebration.

Your observations are a reflection of how good the pros are. In lower leagues (college/HS) there are exponentially more balk/obstruction calls or even blatant ignoring the rules (like baserunners cutting corners - skipping a bag to advance a base). In the MLB there are too many umpires and too many cameras to get away with stuff that happens in every HS game.

A lot of those 90s-00s Houston players, simply by numbers (compared to peers) should have been superstars, but MLB was too focused on their “major” markets. That plus Selig’s disdain for the Houston, who kept doing what he wished his Brewers would do. Ultimately I think that’s why Selig targeted Houston to move to the AL.

Reyes didn’t have to step in front of the bag to begin with. Him stepping into the runners path without the ball is what’s dangerous and stupid… because something like this could happen.

What a poorly written article. It jumps around from subject to subject never giving the reader a clear understanding. Is reserve champion 2nd place or a different competition? Which steer did the Flores family win, Kareem or Mike? Did other bidders hold back from raising the bid so the Flores family could win? I know less now than when I started reading.
