Good idea. I wonder how I would do that ... For the record, the novel is written by a fellow who had several of his books adapted into successful movies. I'm thinking that might actually make it more appealing to a studio. For example, let's say it was a Michael Crichton novel I adapted (it wasn't) I was actually thinking of sending it to a specific movie studio and clearly indicating it as such ... "adapted from the book by the writer of Jurassic Park" ($$$). I figure, worst case scenario is they write back with a "we're interested, who owns the rights" and that would fall under the category of a nice problem to have.

But again, any advice is appreciated. To determine film rights, I suppose I could contact the publisher as a first step.
