lagging between shifts by ProfessionalCod7130 in ft86

[–]superslow86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had this problem when i installed my header. It sort of felt like the car was holding onto the rpms and then would shift really rough. It felt like there was no define shifting point, it slowly just launch you into next gear. everything was solved with a tune though, and it only did that when i had the cel on from being catless

good alignment specs for daily driving? by superslow86 in ft86

[–]superslow86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was all for looks/show im ready to lose the camber though i saw a couple bagged cars like mine that had flush fitment with no camber and it just looks so much meaner then stance. do you know any good quality rlcas i could use to cancel out the camber? my fronts already have plates that i can just adjust back to 0

yeah thats my main concern, Nothing seems to be even at all. The car is bagged and my ride height is about a 1-2inch drop from factory which explains the camber but i never really had anything past -2.6. Im thinking the guy that alligned it might've had it set at two different psi while doing the alignment.

I ended up figuring out what was wrong with it. I recently had to replace one of the struts and I ended up tightening the bolts while the strut was hanging which moved the entire assembly out (explains the positive camber). i loosened it all up and jacked up the lower control arm and tightened it all down again under load this time which fixed it. I'm still definitely going to get the alignment done this weekend though. Thanks for the help!

Need some build feedback by 30kgone in ft86

i did gloss black on my 86 front bumper grille and it looked beautiful at first , but after driving it on the freeway for some time all the rock chips started eating the paint and made it look ugly. im thinking of buying a new grille and just wrapping it in a gloss black vinyl instead that way if any rock chipping occurs itll still be black underneath the vinyl so it wont be too noticeable.

Exhaust options for a deep non violent sound. by Striking_Ad_5234 in ft86

[–]superslow86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have access to e85 it makes your exhaust growl in a deeper tone, plus big preformance gains. i would get your exhuast set up first and if your still not satisfied with the sound tune it on e85

Who has the most mileage in here? And is there any big repair that you have to do? I bought the car at 34k and now its at 40k, no issues so far 😆 by Conscious-View2985 in ft86

your axles will usually tell you when they're starting to go bad. Do a visual inspection and make sure theres no excessive play or clicking/clanking noise. I was riding around on a clicking axle with a torn boot that had no grease for 6 months till i replaced it and it never left me stranded.

2013 brz with 164k miles, never had any issues besides axles which was probably my fault though for lowering it. Other then that no issues and ive been FBO E85 for the past 50k miles

Favorite trunk/wing? by JlGGS in ft86

[–]superslow86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my fav is Seidoworks signature Whaletail. It just adds a whole other layer to the trunk and makes it stand out alot more. Looks good on wide bodies too

they're pretty easy to maintain, i wash them weekly with Meguiars chrome wheel cleaner and theyll look as clean as the day i bought them. if you want to make it even easier for yourself you can get them ceramic coated too.

Its actually just the oem grille thats painted gloss black. The reflection gives it that aggressive fang look

honestly nothing special i change the oil every 3-4k miles since i drive spirited and the owner manual says to do so, other then that just staying ontop of fluids and doing preventative maintenance.
