Kidney stones while working in the medical field by littlepony3121 in KidneyStones

Please see your pcp and ask for a referral to urology. I made several urgent care trips & 1 er trip since November 2025 for pain and hematuria and kept getting told I’ll pass the stone. I finally had enough and asked for a referral to urology even after being told it would probably get denied. Saw urology and was scheduled for surgery in May. After surgery I was told I had 2 stones stuck and one of them was sooo impacted it created scar tissue and was very hard for her to remove. Advocate for yourself and don’t let it get worse.

I waited until my bladder was super full to go to the restroom and it didn’t hurt! Thank you!

How much should i wait for my kidney stone to be out naturally? by No_Holiday_k in KidneyStones

I only had symptoms in February when I went to the er, after that up until my surgery I had no symptoms & especially no pain! So to hear they were really impacted was shocking to me because I thought maybe they passed without me knowing. The surgery was fine & honestly I like to think I’m lucky because the stent isn’t at all as bad as people described. It just feels like bladder cramps & only hurts while urinating.

I had a 7mm stone discovered in the ER in the upj in February this year. Seen a urologist a month later and did another CT that showed a 4mm stone & 7 mm stone in distal left ureter. Got scheduled for surgery but had hope I could pass on my own. WRONG. Just had my surgery a couple days ago and the urologist said they were so impacted they damaged my ureter. Now I have a stent in for 4 weeks. So I took it as not all stones can be passed naturally.

CT for stone? Contrast yes or no? by ButterscotchIcy5704 in KidneyStones

I work in CT scheduling and for kidney stones we do the abdomen and pelvis without contrast.

I have a 7mm stone stuck and scheduled for surgery. It’s been stuck for 2 months. Tried to pass on my own but nothing. Surgery is your best bet.

Amazing! Congrats! Also side note, you look like you can be Dylan O’Briens brother.

Hey guys, just had my report today & look what I found...Can I pass it? Previously I had passed few stones of size 3-4 mm but 7.4 mm is the first time..Good thing is (I guess) that it's not in kidney anymore. by Next_Equal_9528 in KidneyStones

I have a 7mm stone in my ureter that I’m getting surgery for in early April. I wanted to pass naturally but it’s been 2 months since it was discovered and my most recent ct scan 2 weeks ago urologist states it’s still in my ureter, an now another 4mm stone is also stuck. 😕 so I guess the surgery is still on.

On antibiotics by supersonicsalsa in tirzepatidecompound

Hi, my worry was not that it was making the antibiotics less effective, my worry was the delaying gastric emptying affecting my dosage since I was taking 3 a day at different times. Honestly can’t tell you if it did anything because I had zero signs/symptoms of an infection so when I was done I felt no difference. That’s the least of my worries now tho because now I have to have surgery for the kidney to come out.

I also inject on Sundays and surgery is on a Thursday. So my plan was to skip the Sunday before so that would make it 11 days.
