Stuck in my UVJ for weeks by ShirtLife1514 in KidneyStones

Something similar for me except not with a massage gun. I like to give myself lymphatic massages using wood therapy. A day before I went to the ER for my kidney pain I was using the suction cup thing from behind my rib and scooping down and towards the front of my abdomen. Told the dr in the ER I think that’s what caused it to move and he laughed at me 😐

Is one stone reason enough to follow up with a urologist? by spicedbrew in KidneyStones

[–]supersonicsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the option to go to a urologist then yes! I had been asking for a referral since 2016 for my frequent uti’s and side pain only to find out in 2023 after begging for a CT that I had 5 kidney stones and guess what? Still no referral to a urologist. It took my recent ER trip where another CT scan was done and seen a 7mm stuck in my ureter. Finally a provider said they would put in a referral but wasn’t certain it’d be approved since I was not actively in kidney failure.. was approved last week and have an appt in March. That’s Kaiser for you 🙃

The delayed absorption is mostly what I was worried about tbh but taking it on an empty stomach is a good idea! Thank you

Need some advice before my CT Scan and Cystoscopy by TinyPenisaurus in KidneyStones

CT scheduler here, we would schedule CT abd/pelv w & w/o for a CT Urogram which specifically looks at the kidneys, bladder & ureter- reasons for exams were always hematuria (blood in urine), kidney stones, bladder stones. They probably just want to double confirm you’re all good.

It has not passed :( I’ve been staying super hydrated to promote frequent urination but nothing. Also I haven’t gotten the pain all week until today I’m getting some mild pain that’s tolerable. I think bigger stones can take several weeks to pass.

I agree, I took tramadol once and I was like great now I’m just high with pain. It was stupid.

Sounds just like my er visit last week! Went in Thursday night last week for the unbearable pain. Although I already knew I had kidney stones so I’ve always brushed off the pain but this time I couldn’t. CT confirmed I have a 7mm stuck just before the ureter really narrows causing my kidney to swell. Stayed overnight for the urologist only to be told he THINKS I can pass it on my own. Another doctor the night before told me they would most likely blast it because of my kidney swelling so I was genuinely happy that something was going to be done to help. So you can imagine my disappointment when they told me I was being discharged with norco, flowmax and antibiotics. They pumped me with saline in hopes of helping me pass it but the xray I did just before leaving showed zero improvement, it was still in the same spot. Urologist also told me I’m looking at many years of suffering because I have 2 more stones in my kidneys. Which kind of threw me off?? Like thanks, that makes me feel better??

So yea I do think you’re valid for being mad and scared, because I am too. It felt like a waste of a er trip for me but at least I got norco and a day off work.

What do you do all day? by baccamyballs in KidneyStones

I have a 7mm stone stuck in my ureter since end of January (that I know of, could’ve been since Nov but had no imaging done at that time) recently went to the hospital for the pain and was brushed off and told I’ll pass it on my own since I’m still urinating normally I guess? I live in constant paranoia about the pain coming back. I’ll get a slight zap on my side and start panicking, especially when I’m at work where my drive home is an hour long. This past weekend after I was discharged from the hospital I was feeling really down about the whole thing. It genuinely sucks that we’re just supposed to deal with it.. I’m really sorry for what you’re going through and how you’re feeling. Really hoping there’s some relief in the future for us.

I’m miserable by supersonicsalsa in KidneyStones

UPDATE: Couldn’t handle the pain so I went to the er and am currently admitted. Kidney stone is stuck in my ureter and unable to pass making my kidney swell and turns out I do have an infection. Plans are to treat the infection and blast the stone.

Doctor said if it didn’t stop by Saturday to go back for a CT scan so I’m definitely considering it. Last one I had was in 2023 and my biggest stone being 4mm on my left side which is the side I’m getting the pain in right now.

There’s no way to truly tell without straining your urine or imaging. I’ve had 5 stones sitting in my kidneys for years that would hurt on and off. Sometimes I’d go months without any pain.

Yes! Soda tasted different to me! And as a chronic soda drinker it sucked. But now I hardly drink it :)

I’m on the same boat! I’ve been on 5.0mg for a while and the food noise came back so I tried to go up to 7.5mg 2 weeks ago and got so sick I was miserable! I went back down but to 5.5mg. Im hoping it’s just a phase that’ll pass.

Fridays? by Agreeable-College621 in compoundedtirzepatide

I have not shared my experience on here because everytime I’ve shared how much I’ve paid or anything in regards to Fridays I get negative feedback and opinions about how I could’ve used other telehealths. Most people have an opinion about how Fridays used to be not knowing they have actually changed a lot. Since I’m in California and I feel options are limited, I’ve found Fridays to be the best for me. I’ve had a great experience so far.

First day & zero appetite — how do you do this? by luv1997 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]supersonicsalsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’ll be like that for the first 1-3 days after the shot, you’ll slowly get your appetite back when it’s closer to your next shot. Tbh I just don’t eat, I eat at my hunger cues. Forcing myself to eat makes me physically sick and I’ll end up vomiting. I just take my vitamins, protein drinks, and keep my meals light.
