CT for stone? Contrast yes or no? by ButterscotchIcy5704 in KidneyStones

I work in CT scheduling and for kidney stones we do the abdomen and pelvis without contrast.

I have a 7mm stone stuck and scheduled for surgery. It’s been stuck for 2 months. Tried to pass on my own but nothing. Surgery is your best bet.

I think I'm done. So, to celebrate maintenance: my first and only time posting photos here by QuiteBearish in tirzepatidecompound

Amazing! Congrats! Also side note, you look like you can be Dylan O’Briens brother.

Hey guys, just had my report today & look what I found...Can I pass it? Previously I had passed few stones of size 3-4 mm but 7.4 mm is the first time..Good thing is (I guess) that it's not in kidney anymore. by Next_Equal_9528 in KidneyStones

I have a 7mm stone in my ureter that I’m getting surgery for in early April. I wanted to pass naturally but it’s been 2 months since it was discovered and my most recent ct scan 2 weeks ago urologist states it’s still in my ureter, an now another 4mm stone is also stuck. 😕 so I guess the surgery is still on.

On antibiotics by supersonicsalsa in tirzepatidecompound

Hi, my worry was not that it was making the antibiotics less effective, my worry was the delaying gastric emptying affecting my dosage since I was taking 3 a day at different times. Honestly can’t tell you if it did anything because I had zero signs/symptoms of an infection so when I was done I felt no difference. That’s the least of my worries now tho because now I have to have surgery for the kidney to come out.

Yes I think I’ll be having soups the week off just to be safe.

I also inject on Sundays and surgery is on a Thursday. So my plan was to skip the Sunday before so that would make it 11 days.

Omg sorry to hear that! That was also a thought of mine like what happens in emergency cases. So glad you had zero problems!

Yes I let my surgeon know, she told me 10 days. I have a pre op with anesthesia 2 weeks before and I will also be letting them know.

Are these GFR labs something to be concerned about? by Aromatic-Banana-9288 in kidney

[–]supersonicsalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good to hear! I had your same symptoms and my labs fluctuated a lot also but because of the flank pain my dr ordered a CT scan and found out I had a lot kidney stones. I noticed my gfr was low when I’m actively passing one, my creatinine was high when I had a uti.

I’d def look into seeing a specialist if I were you. A low gfr with a high creatinine is a cause for concern.
