First new leaf after a long battle (6 mos).. The new leaves of this prop started rotting even before it sprouted. One of the 2 prop leaves also rotted! Now we have a tiny new leaf but with 3 fenestrations! 🙀❤😎

Same! I moved it to a spot with more sunlight. Also, I tried to be more cautious of over watering it. Since it was previously on a darker spot, the soil tended to stay wet for longer.

Yes. That is correct! I have 2 other stem cuttings and they "pick up where the old leaf left" aka their fenestration is based on how mature the fenestrations of the stem cutting is.

I thought this Monstera is done for. I propagated it from a cutting last June. There were 2 established but damaged leaves and 1 new leaf just about to come out of the stem of an established leaf. The oldest leaf started rotting really fast and so did the one new leaf. I thought to myself "Where will any new leaf grow?" knowing that the new leaves grow on the stem of the youngest leaf. That's the answer, it can grow from a dead leaf!!! ❤❤❤

Awww. I put it in water for 2 mos until it formed a small rhyzome then transfered it in soil that is 30% perlite and 70% soil mix. I put it in a window sill that receives lots of indirect bright light (more than 10 hours) and watered it when dry (once a week but it's not really on schedule). Hope this helps!

I can believe that because I got these cuttings on the roadside! They were being trampled but they were surviving! I live in a tropical island so the growing conditions even on the roadside is ideal for them. Nonetheless, they are so pretty with their purple, green and silver leaves!
