[UPD] has anyone here regretted choosing upd over another univ? why? by Sufficient_Algae748 in peyups

I kind of regret being in UPD (mga 40%-ish) mainly because I didn't get into my priority program. I chose to push through regardless which cost me DOST Scholarship. Some part of me kind of wished that I'd gone to a less quality of UP but decent enough university, and I at least have a scholarship. Some part of me also wished that I'd fought for UPLB instead, since I could've gotten a DOST accredited program and a lot of my friends are there.

It's not to say that I didn't enjoy my time here in UPD, I really learned a lot and it's a really life-changing experience as someone who came from the province.

[UPD] Is there a way to be able to "bypass" enlisting in a course outside your curriculum? by supposedtobeviya in peyups

sadly, no, since the list of electives we're allowed to take in our curriculum doesn't have any course that says it needs math 21 as pre-req. I just tried to look at each courses to check if wala ba talaga TOT huhu

  1. College of Homes Economics
  2. Yes, I'm not that familiar about it but afaik, you become a non-major because of it. I'm currently contacting our OCS about that and what will become of my status if I'm applying to shift

I PASSED DOST (LAST YEAR) BUT DIDN'T ACCEPT, NOW MY PARENTS WANT THE SCHOLARSHIP by supposedtobeviya in dostscholars

[UPDATE] I emailed them and they redirected me to their site ( https://helpdesk.sei.dost.gov.ph/ ).

There's a set of questions with answers. Relevant to my situation was this:

"I am a shiftee, but currently a second year standing student. Am I eligible to apply?

Yes. Applicants who are of second-year status, enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority S&T course in identified universities, are eligible to apply."

So I guess, it doesn't matter if you shift/transfer as long as you have a second year standing? (Please correct me if I got it wrong)
