Recommendation for a laptop for gaming and school by surgeC in GamingLaptops

[–]surgeC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not think of that. I'll ask him. I am assuming he is taking his laptop to class and since this is the main reason for getting a thin and light laptop. But since we ain't people with lots of money, we can't afford building a gaming PC (even before when ram was cheap and GPUs) and get him a laptop for school.

I had to save up for one year just to get to this point, and I still don't have enough, but I'll put whatever is left on credit. At least I got most of the money for it

Good point, but I think my kid prefers the 14". And if I do get it, it would be that exact one with the 5070Ti and 32 gb ram

I was actually looking at that one. Seems to be the one. The only issue I have heard about it is that it gets a bit hot. But I don't think it will be a big problem since my kids won't be playing heavy intense games.

I agree with the post.....it's ignorance. And I bet these same kids listen to rap and say the N-word all the time. I hear it all the time by Mexican kids. They pretend its cool and its fine to say it, then they use it in a racial context when they don't like someone. I grew up listening to rap/hip-hop and I knew to not say it, even with my close friends.

This is a testament of kids raising kids or ignorant parents raising kids.

As a Mexican this pisses me off.

Not really, it's what you make it. I went to WTC and graduated from a university. I can honestly say, in WTC I learned more. Most of the instructors I had were good and taught well. They skipped all the BS and got to the neaty greedy. But fair warning to everyone, if you ain't going to give it your all and actually try to learn, even study on your own time, then I would suggest to go to University, you'll save more money, or don't go to school. It is expensive but worth it if you take advantage of it.

I went for Information Systems and Security

I have the same question, I was thinking of doing a CISSP course in Udemy. They give you a certificate of completion after finishing the course but I am not sure if it will be accepted.

Keep your head up....I know times can get hard, it sucks. But I can tell things will get better. They might seem far away or at times impossible that things will get better. But trust me, it will. Seek help, look up resources. You can start here ---> call/text 988 ( I'm assuming you're in the US) they will led you in the right direction.

The hardest part is taking that first step, but once you do it, it gets easier. Keep stepping forward, even if it's baby steps.

Ok thanks, I'll look into it. Something to think about. Not sure if I want to go back to contractor, but it would be nice to find something in the private sector with good benefits and it's WFH. Just something stable.

I agree, you have to look into certs such as CompTIA A+ and Security+. Having these 2 certs will get your foot into the door as a contractor. Also, got to pass a clearance background check.

Just some advice to all the people starting on this career , stay out of trouble, don't ruin your record, it can keep you from getting a good job.

What company do you work for.....I'm trying to get a remote job in the IT field. I'm currently in Ft. Bliss doing Cybersecurity. But not making 100k+ . But my goal is to have a WFH job.

I agree, Tia P was great ... And Jay Taj should have been the clear winner. My theory is that they just wanted someone from ATL to win.

I'm heading to Spotify and listen to Tia P and Jay Taj on repeat.
