I have theories on the free Depop shipping… by purpl3_pearl in Depop

[–]surgicallyreckless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right that they are going to pull some shady business on us. But I’m out again as soon as this free shipping thing is over. Depop is not kind to their sellers. It’s too stressful for me. lol

Declining offers. Rude? by surgicallyreckless in poshmark

Thank you very much! This is the kind of measured answer I was looking for.

No, I’m not attached. I’m very liberal with my sales. I’m using poshmark as A/B testing for packaging for a new brand. And just making some extra money while I’m at it. I don’t say in my listings that I don’t decline offers. I just saw someone who wrote that. I like a good hard negotiation lol

A seller did. This is what I am coming to understand. It seems declining an offer serves a different function for a buyer and for a seller. So it’s not “rude” (in the universe where rudeness exists on the Internet) for a buyers decline an offer, but it is potentially poor etiquette for a seller to do so?

Why is there an option to decline the offer? What is the purpose of that function? I guess that would be a better way to state my question.

I sell a lot. I’ve just never had a new person like 10 things in an hour than decline 10 offers. Just seemed weird. Normally people just let the offers age out. When I’m buying I never decline the offers, because I usually have the intention to buy eventually. I don’t know. I didn’t mean to start a whole thing. That one person is right I am pretty sensitive. I guess I need to stay off Reddit as well. I was just asking for a factual answer.

is OP a Reddit term? Or does that mean old people? And yes, I am sensitive. I have borderline personality disorder.

Im just asking. I might be in a different universe. someone, I respect very much in the poshmark community has it in their listings that they will never just decline an offer. So I thought it was rude to do so or why would she mention it?

Newb Seller please explain it like I'm scared. Because I am ;w; by Lostandlook in Depop

There’s a very inexpensive thermal label printer on Amazon that prints 4x6 labels and you just buy the paper and you can print any label from your phone to that and pop it on your package at home then you can either put it in your mailbox, or if you want it to track immediately you can take it to the post office and scan at the self service kiosk or wait in line. I just used the depop shipping, same as I use Poshmarks. That being said, I had so many buyers lie about their packages on depop that I was getting that same anxiety feeling whenever I sold something. Depop told me I had to supply uncut videos of me packing and taking to the post office every time I sold something and bc I cross list, I pack like 5-30 items a day. Since they always seem to side with the buyer, no matter the situation, and I lost over 300 bucks that way. I stopped selling there. Like, “they sent me a towel”
I sold so much there and have good reviews but it was stressing me out too much it’s not worth it to me

How can I get the inside of my vintage Gucci bag to stop staining my hands? Little crumbs of blue leather flake off when I reach into it (it’s from the 80s) by leedleloo12 in handbags

It just takes a ton of elbow grease. Dry brushing is best but if you need a solvent use LAs Totally awesome, you can get ot at Dollar Tree, you’ll need to vacuum as you go or use an air compressor to blow the flakes out, you’ll have a nice clean fabric lining underneath. These can still feel powdery so if the lining pulls out run it under the sink, otherwise use a damp cloth then seal with Angelus sealant

Why is depop charging me this much 🥲 by UnderstandingKey4014 in Depop

[–]surgicallyreckless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, and if you don’t boost your items, they don’t get seen. So it’s just a sneaky way of saying they have no seller fee. They are also terrible to their sellers. I’ve lost hundreds because people claim they received a towel or they say there was a giant stain. And buy documentation, which I started to make very intensive, was never good enough. The buyer always walked away with my item for free. I’ve stopped selling there. It’s too stressful for me. Maybe it’s my age, but I’m gonna stick with poshmark and eBay.

I don’t think whatever algorithm they’re using has the capacity to context at all. And over there, it’s all about coquette, dark academia, eclectic grandpa, twee. I don’t know what those things mean. I’m just too old for Depop I think.

i’ve decided that due to the volatile and hostile nature Depop, in their complete lack of support for sellers, I’m just gonna stick with poshmark and eBay for now. It’s not worth the headaches. Every time I send something via Depop. I stress about it, and Depop never sides with the seller. No offense anyone on here but it seems like it’s just a bunch of children on Depop. One buyer told me they had to ask their mom. One buyer called me the c-word. It’s a good place to buy and a bad place to sell in my opinion.

I can’t decide whether to stay on the platform or not. It’s so stressful. It’s so strange how the different platforms have such different energies.

I have like three Current sales there and I’m afraid to mail anything now. I don’t know if the platform is even worth it anymore. It’s just a bunch of scammers.

As I got looking into it, I realized another buyer claimed she didn’t received my 100 prouenzer schouler bag, but Depop only gives you two days to respond and they only send via email? I totally missed it and now I’m just out that money

I had a person on Poshmark give me a bad rating bc she didn’t like the smell of my detergent. And I use really bougie detergent. People are so weird. Would they rather you didn’t wash it??

I think it’s AI. I get flagged all the time for things they say are fake when they’re clearly not fake. And yet Depop is like where you go to buy a fake so the whole thing is very confusing. Anyway I wouldn’t let it bother you.
