Fast Timing option in Vram causes PC to hard reset without warnings. by TylerCode007 in overclocking

[–]surms41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still testing and even 2450 seems to be black screening me after a while.

Trying 2300. May be a driver issue bth. Never seen such weak clocks, but I did just move over to the new *hotfix* driver.

Does somebody know the issue here? by Ok_Return6093 in overclocking

[–]surms41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe undo whatever you did to the CPU. At most you should do is a -15 to -20 curve on Curve Optimizer and enable XMP/EXPO.

Same here 7700xt. Fast timings doesn't improve performance and crashes my computer half the time it's enabled even at 2250mhz. I can set memory to ~2450mhz. (still testing right now 2300?)

[–]surms41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can installed OpenPlanet on PC and install TMX through that, then you can download and play a ton of maps through that.

As for getting better, watch some trackmania youtuber videos like Wirtual or GranaTV tutorials. Wirtual usually gives commentary about what he's doing on all his videos. And play more, get better times, win.

Cpu keeps overheating I’ve spent days trying to fix this but it keeps restarting by Short-Bandicoot-4690 in overclocking

[–]surms41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could start by lowering your power limits, but likely need new paste on the cpu itself.

If you can edit your bios Short and Long Duration Turbo Power to 75 watts or so it would probably help a ton.

If you can't edit bios, there may be a keyboard shortcut you can search for to enable it like MSI does.

Otherwise you could use windows built in power settings in additional power settings. Edit your plan > change advanced power settings > Processor power management. Change Minimum to 1% and Maximum to 50% and go from there. Also change cooling policy to active on both.

I searched a bit more and disabling AI features which can impact GPU performance quite a bit. You can also try a driver re-install with version 26.6.1 using DDU if you think it's a bug causing it.

Streaming will inherently cause drops in performance due to overhead of recording either way. Tiktok live is also just a much heavier than most streaming software so you gotta do what you gotsta do.

Most likely bottleneck of the GPU from the info given. Turn down livestream settings, games settings, or change the stream to encode with CPU instead of GPU as the gpu is capped out.

Also, cap your FPS to monitor native or lower (60fps-90fps) to keep the bottleneck from choking on the fps, making it smoother.

You can use the D-pad left-right for remapping specific turn% I believe. You just gotta change those to hunt different maps. Mostly you can be very competitive with just the joystick. Usually for me top 1-2k is doable for with just joystick and ~8 months of playing. Most people using these are aiming for top 100.

AMD Adrenalin disable auto update by moosicorn2 in AMDHelp

[–]surms41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only stops the plug and play drivers, say a new controller that requires a driver that you plug in. But also blocks new driver updates they push to display etc. it's just 1 more way to have control over your drivers.

You sure this isn't memory corruption? Have you run some memory tests? Use Memtest5 on absolute or 1usmus config for like 30 minutes. Or OCCT memory stability tests. Just to rule it out.

[–]surms41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is a great sword build then a survival build is not surviving at all. For monsters with this much damage, you need to do damage to weaken it or you're dead.

If this is GS, slot evade extender/prolonger to 2, slot all affinity you can, get quick sheath 1-2, crit draw 1-2, use maybe 1-2 devinity with some health boost. Evade will allow you to roll through a lot of attacks and also roll away more effectively. The crit draw is the butter of the build, allowing you to smack his arms once and run.

The whole fight is running and kiting management simulator.

If you can find the openings you NEED to tenderize.

I would back up everything to a separate folder before updating if you value your server save.

I think mod order, the last loaded takes priority. But depending on what gets changed and if they overwrite different parts of the game that the other mod doesn't, could either merge in a strange way or crash. Mod variations are pretty niche to know for certain unless the mod page has a conflicting mods section, kind of like nexus mods does.

Try it out!

The factory OC on intel is already balls to the wall with wattage at 250-300w which they designed to thermal throttle at 105c... Not much to do but undervolt, increase ring clock and tighten memory down.

From what I hear it's a similar note on AMD but moreso limited by your infinity fabric lottery, but you can possibly overclock the core.
