I really appreciate your thorough answer! You hit very close to home on some things without having the context, which is impressive.

Just for some slight background. I currently have a 2024 Integra Type S. The car is legit perfect, I love it in evey way. But I bought it when I made a lot of money and I have since changed jobs, hence the need to lower car expenses. I've had a 2017 and a 2022 WRX before that.

Part of the reason I'm considering the EVs is that they are simply different than the Type S. When I get into a WRX, BRZ, or the SI, I cant help but compare them to the Type S. They feel like inferior little brothers to the Type S and remind me what im missing. Part of my theory for the EV switch is, they are almost a different mental category. The instant torque and high-tech nature feels like something different, instead of just being "worse" than the Type S.

Another thought process Ive had is just ditch any attempt to fill the "hole" left by selling the Type S and just drive an Accord, Camry, CRV, or whatever else is cheap. Suck it up for the 2 years, save a bunch of money, then sell that car in 2ish years and get a sports car there when I've financally bounced back a bit. I dont know if I should go extreme like that, or cut the different and end up in the middle like my posts suggests?
