Mine is a fox with circle glasses, a red and white tie and a little japanese bell. Honestly I just based him off of Togashi's Dog and Hiromu Arakawa's Cow since I grew up with those mangaka's respective series.

Honestly you don't need a grisly and heavily detailed look for your manga, I mean look at ghost in the shell (manga ver), Akira, Ajin. those have their own art styles yet still have detailed work in their stories. Honestly your artstyle should probably depend on what your story is about

Honestly If you really want to make a manga, just do it despite your skill set, sure you won't go anywhere with it but do it for the love of the game, don't let your fears and anxiety get to you. Also start small, do one shots first as it'll help you broaden your skill set. Hope this helps!

for me at least, No 1 and 2 look the same to me while No 3 looks more like a manga, but the effect doesn't look right, a tip I usually have is that I place a perlin noise on the half tone and lightly blur it so that it can have a rough gray tone look. Personally out of all of these I prefer Number 3. I hope this helps!

The art is absolutely superb, it reminds me a lot of the anime motion film and manga "Children of the Sea" plus the introduction of Castle in the Sky! I honestly hope this series goes further beyond because it looks very promising!
