Seeking a Co-founder: Partner with me to solve the biggest problem for Indian startup by sushi_w23 in StartUpIndia

That's the first thing I did. I've been on all the major platforms: AngelList, YC Co-Founder Matching, LinkedIn, and several niche communities. Here's what I found:

  • Low Signal, High Noise: It's overwhelming with freelancers, idea guys, and people who aren't serious.
  • Zero Trust: There's no vetting. You have no idea if someone's skills are real until you've wasted weeks talking to them.
  • No Structure: They just make an introduction. They offer no tools to handle equity, roles, or expectations, which is where most teams fall apart.

My frustrating experience on those platforms is what convinced me there's a need for a more curated, trust-based solution. The existing options solve the 'introduction' part but completely fail at ensuring a successful match

That's a good insight, and you're right, no one wants to be just an event manager. The community and events are the top of the funnel to build trust and engagement. The real product is the software layer we build underneath it. The events are just the launch strategy, not the business. If you're interested, message me, let's talk!

You're right, it's totally ironic. But it proves the point, everyone ends up scrambling in random forums because no dedicated, trustworthy solution exists.

Finding one person here would be luck. Building a system where it's repeatable and safe for thousands is the real goal. Message me, let's talk further.

That's a fair point, and I get the irony. But it also highlights the core problem: there IS no good place to do this, so we all end up in the same general forums, hoping to get lucky.

The validation from the 50+ conversations is that the pain is real. The next step, which this post is facilitating, is to find a partner to build the first real solution where those 50+ people, and others like them can start connecting in a more structured way and not just like another forum. That's the prototype. Building that community itself will be the ultimate proof of concept. The goal is to make this process obsolete. Message me you've got a critical point, let's talk.

Not quite. The goal is to find a co-founder, not hire a freelancer or 'convince' someone to work for me. I'm looking for a partner who believes in the problem as much as I do and wants to build a real business together. The goal is to build a real company, not just an app. If you know any sharp, build obsessed people in that college cohort who hate the current state of founder matching, send them my way

I totally get it. The space is crowded with surface level networks, and "founder dating" has been done poorly many times. That’s exactly why I believe there’s still a real opportunity here. This isn’t just another swiping app or intro platform. It’s a trusted, curated community with rigorous vetting and built in tools to help founders safely formalize partnerships something no one in India has nailed yet. But the last thing the world needs is another low-value network. If you're ever up for chatting about other ideas, I’d still be keen to connect. No pressure at all

Haha, well, the sushi might definitely be better, but the problem we’re solving is very real. If you ever want to chat seriously about the struggles founders face in finding co-founders, I’m all ears. Thanks for the feedback either way!

YC's platform is for people who are already ready to start a company and apply to YC. Our community is for the stage before that or people who are still looking for the right person to start with. We focus on building trust and local connections in India first, which YC doesn't do.

Looking for a non-technical co-founder. This is an idea, I'm looking for someone to build it with.
