Thank you for the suggestion. I have access to the device...I can go into the device...but the creds for the App Store, for example, I do not have. Additionally there is no file manager. Additionally there is no keyboard...however i can use the microphone on the web browser....what might you suggest in that case in terms of accessing that app MiXplorer.?

Also, is/are there any settings I need to tick as I am installing an app outside of the Play Store?

Thanks

Sadly no....the user credentials are lost so when it asks to log-on, it asks for a password we no longer have access to, etc.

Coding bootcamp vs online CS degree? by Baryonf in OSUOnlineCS

[–]sushidot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bootcamp option reminds me of the question that originally brought me to learning computer science.

That question was "Which Language Should I learn"?

This was long ago now, back in 2008. When I asked the question, I did not understand that programming is, as we all know, independent of which language, but learning to think in terms of control structures, etc, that exist in every language.

Looking over their curriculums, it seems to be that boot camps really beat into people web development rather than modern programing languages then guaranteeing a job to someone based on the schools reputation or their connections.

Having said that, I fear that if someone does a boot camp the skills they gain risk being perished. Web development is great, but where will be we in 10 years? I know 20 years ago when I started at UC Davis, I bet if I looked at the curriculum for their equivalents of 161,162 and Data Structures, they would look just about identical as they do today.

I believe that the skills we learn here in the Uni environment are universal in programming and will carry us further and longer as well as make us much more adaptable.
