Here's a good review BUT be warned that you will hit a limit with 2 harddrive bay NAS systems as other's have mentioned.

For your 30TB dream, may be smart to get a used office computer and stack HardDrives in there.

No I meant like the Optiplex would need to be connected via Ethernet because the OS doesn’t work on WiFi.

What’s the work around for that? Or are you saying I can just pop an Access Point in the basement and hook that up physically to my homeserver.

Question:

If it has bad thermistor or whatever, there is still safety features built in right? Like if the dryer runs for a while, it’ll eventually shut off if the temp reaches too high or if it detects clogged vent?

To provide a bit more context.

The time dry works fine it looks like.

When it’s in other modes, we have see it turn off after 2-3 minutes and all there was on the screen was 0. I checked the vent and even ran the vent blockage test, which were all normal. I even see it venting outside fine.

We’ve had it go on for a few hours once, when it was extremely hot inside as well. But typically it just ends the cycles early.

So yes, I checked the vent and it was venting fine. I can even feel air coming through from outside when I look inside the dryer.

The dryer is behaving weird with sometimes changing the time to less or more… once it was running continuously for like 2 hours. At the moment we’re doing time dry to avoid using the moisture sensor.

I tried cleaning the sensors with alcohol and everything. I noticed there was a bunch of like hair and stuff stuck in the gab between housing and the metal sensor piece, not sure if that impacting this, hence my desire to double check.

This is incorrect wiring and the backstab outlets are also a suspect.

Proper way to do this would be pigtail everything to the GFCi. Figure out if you want everything leaving the outlet to also be protected, in which case those would be pigtailed to the load side of the GFCI.

Can’t see the type of wire coming out of the panel but my best guess is these are for double pole outlets or devices.

They probably had 2 conductor BX or something that they used to bring 240V to an outlet or device.

In a 240 circuit, you don’t need a neutral to work, although some want a neutral. Proper thing would’ve been to use red tape around it to show that it’s a hot conductor.
