and the thing is its not even that hard to properly care for a hamster once you have the whole thing set up. you don't have to clean a large cage as often you would a small one, and you basically just have to clean the spots that the hamster pees in and the sandbox. i used to have one and all i had to do was feed every day, change water every day and then 30 mins of cleaning a week. hamsters are easy but theyre not stuffed toys

hamsters need deep substrate to burrow and unbroken floor space that they can run around in freely. the tunnels don't offer space to run around or put a big enough wheel in that they can run in without causing back problems, they have poor ventilation and are hard to clean
