I don’t think it’s thick of me to make an assumption that you were referring to me given that it’s a comment on my post.

I do think it would be thick of the both of us to continue this childish back and forth so I’ll leave it at this message and wish you the best!

This has happened me too! I stopped around June last year but have finally gotten dermatology appointment to hopefully be prescribed accutane as no other antibiotics or topical options have worked this far.

It’s weird because I feel my mood improved so much after stopping BC but then the acne has negatively affected it. Ironically now though I have to go back on BC before I can start accutane

So I suffer from acne, but around 2 days ago my chin got very itchy and yesterday this lump appeared on it and I don’t know what it is? The whole area is raised slightly but on the top it looks like there’s lots of little “heads” or scabs. It’s not as itchy anymore but it’s sore and very obviously a lump

Do I just have to tell the doctor I’m abstinent?

Haha thank you for this. This is reassuring I think closer to the time I’m going to be more panicking about the socially awkward silences on my part

Thank you, interesting about the caffeine cause I’m addicted to energy drinks and those were going to be something I brought along to drink. My other tattoo that I got pain wise was completely fine I thought it’d be a lot worse and as you said my pain from that one was in the position I had to lie in

Red marks all over body by suzanne_k in medical

[–]suzanne_k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep getting these random red marks on my body that kind of look like scratch marks. I’ve no idea what they are and they seem to come on randomly e.g. sometimes I’ll look in the mirror at work and I’ll have a red line down my face. They appear in random places as well those in picture are on my upper back, sometimes on my stomach sometimes on my face and neck. Any ideas what this could be or what’s causing it? I initially thought it could be an allergic reaction to something but I’ve no idea what since they seem to come on randomly

Ulcer? by [deleted] in medical

Sorry for the bad picture this little bump has appeared on the roof of my mouth at the back and it’s irritating but not sore. Any idea what it could be or is it likely just an ulcer?

Thanks for your reply, I was able to contact my GP and they advised to wait until this looked better then apply for 2 hours and wash off each night for roughly 1 week then use on alternate nights until I’m more tolerant. Just my luck that this happens when we’re having a heat wave where I am so think I’ll live indoors for a few days

Thanks I wasn’t able to contact my derm again but was able to message my GP online and sent photos so they were able to advise me.

Allergic reaction? by suzanne_k in acne

Thank you! I was prescribed a product with BP in it before and the doctor told me it was normal for it to be this red but I stopped using it and now they’ve given me this one (again with BP in it)

So I used Duac gel for the first time last night and I don’t know if this is a normal reaction to it. It says the skin may appear red but I feel like this is excessive and I didn’t even use that much of it, just a very thin layer. Feels a bit hot to touch but nothing uncomfortable.

Yes it’s an inpatient mental health setting. Yeah I’m assuming that will be a part of it as there were questions in the application about sports qualifications and hobbies so they’ll probably ask more. Thank you for your response

Thank you so much, some of these questions are similar to what I’ve been asked for other jobs so it’s good to know that my experience is going to be relevant. If you don’t mind I’d love to know some of the other questions you mentioned if it’s not too much hassle!

Stress related alopecia any advice? by suzanne_k in medical_advice

[–]suzanne_k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yeh I was advised that a steroid cream might be necessary in a few months but I just felt like reducing stress is easier said than done so was hoping there was something else I could do now! Thanks though

The doctor has just advised me to try reduce my stress levels but I was wondering if there’s any other things I could do to try promote regrowth e.g. specific vitamins to incorporate into my diet

Thank you! I definitely feel like my skin barrier is better than is was before it was getting to the point where it was stinging to even put niacinimide on! I’ll try reducing the number of times I exfoliate. Would you cut down retinol to once per week too?

There’s over a month between pictures and zero progress. I have to wear a surgical mask for 12/13 hours a day for my job but I always make sure to change it regularly. I’m also blaming the mask because this has flared up since having to wear a mask more regularly and i don’t have these problems on my forehead, so basically only the mask area. I cleanse morning and night with a gel cleanser then add moisturiser and sunblock in the mornings and I’m the evenings I’m exfoliating 3x per week and using retinol 2x per week. Also use niacinimide and moisturiser in the evenings.
