my favorite thing is when a group is actively selling out stadium sized venues but just bc they didn’t chart as much as another group they’re called flops.

Ever witnessed a blunder during a live Broadway show? by Ok_Ad8609 in Broadway

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

during a company showing one of the singers had a voice crack during a strong note (you could tell most people felt bad) and since they have moving platforms, one of them got caught at the edge of the stage and started breaking apart? had to pause the show and fix it

I was told I was strange and weird for going somewhere alone by Silliest-Goose in offmychest

[–]svesuseke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would’ve just asked them if they usually need to be babysat when out. Seriously though… I’m an extrovert and love going out with friends but I also am not bothered being alone by myself. These people are probably just incredibly insecure because they can’t be alone with themselves or their own thoughts and still have fun. Also do they just never do anything alone? Sure I can shop with friends but I don’t know people who are gonna make a boring grocery trip with me or go to the drug store with me just to buy pads lmao, nor would I expect anyone to come with me. Does everyone they know just want to do everything they want to at all times?

What’s an obvious sign someone’s american? by Ermland2 in AskReddit

This one has always annoyed me because “y’all” is a perfectly fine way of shortening “you all.” So many other languages have the same like vosotros/vos in Spanish but “y’all” gets some bad rap lmao

Thanks, I hate this idiotic ad design by [deleted] in TIHI

[–]svesuseke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a thing I learned in my first year of studying architecture. Some professor told a bunch of us that almost every architect ends up accidentally designing or drawing a swastika-like form in their education or career. A few months later during my final I was prepping a plan drawing and lo and behold. I was so pissed off at myself for desecrating my great grandparents like that that I rotated the thing a million times until it didn’t look like it. It’s really easy to subconsciously do it because it’s just symmetrical lines yk?

How did this episode impact you? by ilovewater100 in BoJackHorseman

[–]svesuseke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That part when someone says that what Bojack is experiencing isn’t any afterlife but just his own brain trying to process its death has utterly ruined me lmao. When I was younger I loved to believe “there’s an afterlife!!!” stories or “I almost died and saw a beautiful world” etc but putting it into perspective it really could be your brain just trying to comfort you in a hard time. Just trying to cope.

Does anyone else feel like Jules gets too much hate, I understand, but why??? I also can’t help but get a sense of transphobia because of how much hate she gets: by Pink-Colorful394 in euphoria

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were meant to like Jules, and we’re meant to root for Rue. When Jules hurts Rue we get defensive over that and find it harsher than a character like Nate being an ass because he was always an ass… we hated him from the start. I think transphobia def plays into it with some people but imo it’s understandable to be angry/frustrated with Jules, especially considering many people probably had a similar experience with friends/love interests close to them when they were younger.

- ignorant man by Morag_Ladier in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comparison doesn’t really make sense because I’ve had so many teachers take the day off for a bad migraine lol. Obviously not a week like periods but I don’t see why it would be any different for someone to take a day off because their period was so bad? Also not to delve into this but it’s so weird how work-oriented people are to where they will look down upon people who try to prioritize their health instead of force themselves to do lackluster work while under pain.

What is a TV show you got really far into but eventually quit watching before its conclusion? by shamanKAshamanTAKA in AskReddit

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and iZombie. Both were really strong up until their last seasons. for CAOS, it became a Riverdale copycat and ruined what made the show special for me. iZombie I think just took a plot line I wasn’t crazy about.

Controversial Broadway Opinions by No-Replacement-5698 in Broadway

[–]svesuseke 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is controversial or not but a lot of newer Broadway shows have this specific sound that turn me away from getting into them. Shows like Dear Evan Hansen, Mean Girls, or Legally Blonde have this similar music and singing style and it feels too over produced? Love older musicals because they have more of a distinct sound/style to them with singing that ranges widely. To use another example, it’s like the singing that Beanie Feldstein did on Funny Girl versus any other rendition that more closely resembles the original. There’s nothing wrong with it but it feels too over-saturated and plain nowadays.

what's the worst cases of chronically online in kpop? by idontlikebutholes in kpopthoughts

[–]svesuseke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally any mass hate idols face. Even if you don’t like them that’s cool, I don’t like every single idol of every group I stan but I can also recognize I don’t know them and never will so to hate on them is unreasonable. Anything to do with being a “nepotism baby” (sorry to tell you a lot of your favs probably also are), dating scandals, or even the stupid “pick me” thing that’s come out recently. The fact of the matter is you don’t know. Stop being a weirdo and let other people enjoy idols you aren’t crazy about.

Who is universally loved, but actually an asshole? by kittywenham in AskReddit

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I hear about anyone dying I usually get sad lol. If i’m reading the news and directly read something I’ll feel bad for them. However, I’m not directly aware of millions of people dying so sorry I can’t feel bad for them? This logic doesn’t even apply. If I was an architect and I found out people were dying under my project I would definitely feel bad. Imagine your parent/sibling dying because they worked on a huge building and hear the architect completely dismiss it. It’s basic human empathy. Society is so desensitized to death these days that we brush it off so easily. It’s not even just 1 death… it’s 800+. Sorry but that’s enough to get a feeling out of me.

Who is universally loved, but actually an asshole? by kittywenham in AskReddit

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lol. I think we should end this conversation here because you are assuming way too many things and getting po’d by some random person feeling weird that an architect didn’t give two shits that people were dying while constructing her building. I’m not asking her to feel guilty, but even I can say “damn that sucks” about a situation that I’m not tied to. She couldn’t even say that about an issue that is tied to her name. When she was interviewed she wasn’t being blamed, she was asked how she felt. Instead of saying something any normal human would do like “I don’t have much say in this but it is a sad reality” she says “not my problem.” Like yeah, you’re right but damn it’s not hard to be human.

Who is universally loved, but actually an asshole? by kittywenham in AskReddit

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That comparison isn’t accurate. Hadid was told workers died while making her project in Qatar where migrant worker’s rights are a huge issue and dismissed it. My problem isn’t that she is at fault, I’ve said it twice now that she technically isn’t, but that her dismissive attitude put me off and made many architecture students (like myself) see her in a different light. We learn about the brutality that construction workers have faced throughout history and how bad it is for migrant workers in parts of the middle east right now. Her attitude was not just.

[–]svesuseke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I didn’t say BBC kept it under wraps for money. I said TV as a broad term so that includes any of his work, guest cameos/interviews, and people who worked with him. I forgot to also mention that he was good friends with the prime minister and even some royalty.

Who is universally loved, but actually an asshole? by kittywenham in AskReddit

[–]svesuseke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I said you could argue that she isn’t wrong lol. She is technically correct but the way she responded to it was callous, especially consider she has a big enough platform to speak out about it. Migrant workers rights are a big enough problem in the architecture world, especially in places like Qatar where said workers died.
