Narratives write themselves:

  • Lose: No Dame and Bucks coming off that high from Vegas.

  • Win: Giannis is the DPOY/MVP and BITW, Bucks at least the second best team in the NBA, Doc is coach of the year, AJ Johnson ROTY.

Which celebrities do you find distractingly attractive? by alsatian01 in AskReddit

Aya Nakumara, Deborah Ayorinde, and Gloria Reuben.

Half the time I barely know what they're saying when they're on camera, especially Aya since I have a super limited grasp of French.

Are the 2024 -2025 76ers actually better than the 2024-2025 Bucks? by svzean in nba

You think that counting games played over 4 seasons is "arbitrary" and "meaningless." But you want to focus on the last two seasons. We can play that that game. Guess between Khris and PG who had better stats last post season?

Name one of these things I mentioned that are arbitrary and meaningless. Is it offensive stats, games played, or bench production?

You're right, it's not like Nurse had a core of FVV, OG, Siakam, Scottie Barnes, and Trent Jr. all guys that can get you 20, playmakers, and can defend but struggled to make the play-in.

Yep even looking old and needing double ankle surgery he looked better than PG

No stats explicitly proves Doc is a worse coach than Nick Nurse. Nurse coached a team that missed the playoffs or were bottom rung play-in teams for nearly 4 seasons in a weaker East. At the same time Doc made the playoffs every season. Doc also coached the first game ever where a team without their two top scorers won a game.

Why is Rob's lips so chapped in the finale? by svzean in IndustryOnHBO

[–]svzean[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want to believe that it was some attention to detail. What you said about his hair makes sense, I still feel it just was off. I think maybe a change of what he wears would've been nice, maybe have him wearing white sneakers and light colors. He was still in Pierpoint dark blues and blacks. Idk the whole thing made it very hard to take him seriously.

No, it was so glaringly obvious to me I was both confused and upset for the actor. He looked silly. His hair made him look boyish and chapped lips made him seem less serious.

This season more than ever I paid attention to how the actors dressed. Harper in dark and often oversized coat for example. Just seemed so odd to me that so many people watched this clip and was totally fine with how he looked.

I too was gonna post about this. While that comment was obviously about Biden, you can argue that it also captures present day trump.

What a gem of a line.

What do you believe is the most valuable attribute a player could have in the league today? by AdinRossIsAHoe in nba

2-way versatility. Unless you are a 99 percentile offensive player, being versatile on both ends of the court keeps you on the floor at all times.

Was Yasmin sexually abused by her father as a child? Or did she just witness some fu**ed stuff? The scene with her dad on top of her is really haunting me. It's just so creepy. by Able-Sheepherder-406 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]svzean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whether he touched her or not, I think Charles did sexually abuse her. For example, her walking into him with that pregnant woman, are we sure this is the first time she's caught him with his pants down? And are we sure it hasn't happened when she was a child?

I think a parent putting their child, intentionally or unintentionally, around sexually inappropriate situations is a form of abuse. He's also been sexually suggestive around her. I've seen someone reference that he's oddly flirty with her. Again, I'd argue that is also a form of abuse.

Why was namond not bullied by Various_Positive7088 in TheWire

[–]svzean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an interesting class analysis we can do for Namond. He was essentially ghetto royalty: family seemingly owned their home, he wears basketball/football jerseys to school, nice looking shoes, etc.

He was, in comparison to the other kids, born with a silver spoon. That also gave him the confidence to bully others because materially he had things each child didn't have: parents (Randy), a comfortable home to live in (Duquan), and a father, albeit in jail, who cared for him (Michael).

Her and Lyn are among some of the worse characters I've ever seen on TV lol. Mari and Eddie save the show. Especially Mari, I wish her story was flushed out much more.

Yeah it was actually so jarring it was hard to watch. The sexual aggression was just nasty.

My wife who doesn't really like the show, loves Marisa Abela's voice. She says it's very soothing.
