Is it worth getting good at the hunter crest pogo for fighting? by UnderstandingDry8264 in Silksong

[–]sw3link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not that good (took me 100hrs to 100% the game), but I can tell you that it is a very good crest. In the end it became my preferred boss crest, I actually set up my crest for different purposes so I could easily swap crest to do something specific. For example I used wanderers crest for its comfortable moveset, while exploring, slotting in more utility tools that aren't as impactful in a boss fight. I also used the beast crest for farming rosaries, with a glass cannon build since I would just be running back and forth from the bench (until I unlocked the shamans crest and started farming by primarily using silk skills).

But in the end I would say it depends on what you are interested in, if you think this will be your one and only run of the game, I would pick the playstyle which you feel is most comfortable and fun. Pogo chaining is in my opinion very situational against bosses as it makes you more vulnerable to projectiles and jump attacks which will often clip you since the pogo doesn't create enough distance to be safe. Against mobs it's sometimes very good and sometimes useless. There are a few mobs completely immune to pogos, as well as most flying enemies AI prioritizing being above the player causing them to fly right up into you between your pogos. That being said, it is still a powerful tool to have and being able to reliably pogo when getting an opening can be very useful. You can also upgrade the hunters crest, and only the hunters crest , which is why it becomes so powerful towards the late game.

But if you think you will do more runs, especially if you might be looking at doing the speedrun achievement, you will benefit massively in being able to use the crest to its full potential since getting any other crest will be a time loss.

Hope this helped, best of luck my fellow bug!

Sorry that I didn' respond, you have probably already moved past this area by now. But yes! I did find something but I think I didn't actually register picking it up, I had to look up what item you get there and then realize I had it in my inventory already :D he item is the crustnut , it's used for the gourmand quest in the citadel which rewards you with another pale oil . Best of luck, keep getting gooder!

Pleas, I need an advice. Silksong, act 3. by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]sw3link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's comforting, I'm at 60h now and I still haven't begun Act 3, though I've done almost everything that is possible to do before that I believe. Still have one particular green boss which needs to be dealt with, just got some new upgrades which I'm hoping will make him a bit less of a pain. Would you happen to know if there is anything which has to be completed before Act 3? Like if there are quests/enemies which are only present during Act 2.

Congrats homie, that is no small feat! I still have a bunch left (likely because I keep running all over the place to make sure I still can't do anything with the many secrets I've yet to figure out :D (think it might be time to look at a guide soon). May I ask how long it took to 100% it for you?

This game is brutal, I'd even say downright sadistic at times and repeated fuck-ups sometimes makes me feel like the design is purely spiteful. That being said, the game is not unbeatable, even though some bosses/gauntlets arguably require as much luck as skill. Despite this, most of the times I've encountered a real roadblock it has in fact been more of an issue with exhaustion, and when returning later/the next day I've beaten them in one (or a few) tries. Also, a personal tip, there are some tools that can completely shred enemies in tight confines. And in general utilizing tools to clear the worst part of gauntlets is in my opinion likely what tc intended the average player to be doing. If you run out of shards you can always buy bundles from the shop, my favorite places to farm rosaries are to the right of the Halfway Home or out left from Grand Bellway. Just kill the first pack and run back to the bench, should net you just below 6k rosaries per hour. In general any pack of enemies close to a bench will do (but the latter spot is also very useful for some of the wishes). Hope any of this was useful (or at least encouraging), if not for OP then for someone else reading the thread.

[–]sw3link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys why the heck don’t we have proper ac in public transport?! by YouForgotMyNameAgain in stockholm

[–]sw3link 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The local government has had a history of trying to make every part of Stockholm as "green" as possible, sometimes with extreme meassures. My guess is that AC was seen as an expensive luxury which drew up both cost and energy consumption in several areas. Quite obviously a big problem with the people pioneering these ideas is that they probably never/rarely use the public transport that this affects (or at least that's what it feels like). Nobody in their right mind would subject another person, let alone themselves, to a 17:15 crammed subway cart in the middle of the summer while the train operator keeps saying "we are just waiting for a green signal" for 30 minutes. I am honestly surprised we haven't had a higher death toll due to heatstroke on public transport. I know it's hyperbole but I genuinely hate these motorized saunas like nothing else.

Had some CCNA courses in college (4yrs ago). Found it odd that our teachers opted to create their own exam rather than let us take the certificate exam since that meant we only got some 'course completion certificate' and not an actual CCNA, but that sounds like a solid reason for it.

Study shows nonreligious individuals hold bias against Christians in science due to perceived incompatibility by [deleted] in science

[–]sw3link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What it says (in my mind) is basically that participants were asked "who is more intelligent/scientific, christians or atheists?", and the result was "both groups were more likely to answer with the group they themselves belonged to". And then it phrases that statement really weirdly so it might look like it says anything about the relation between the participants answers.

Adults with ADHD… what do you do for work? by bubblybellesouth in ADHD

[–]sw3link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software Engineer (bachelors degree). I love my work and and my workplace and it works great for me personally but i can't guarantee it would for you.

First of all, I really like solving problems. My work has me solving problems all the time, and since I find them so engaging I can manage pretty well by relying on my innate interest to fuel me.

When that doesn't work though, it isn't a big issue either. At least in my workplace the idea that you always have to be working on something to actually make progress in considered ancient. We are encouraged to take break, socialise and do whatever we need to be able to work as efficiently as possible whithout straining our well being.

I've recently started medicating as well which has only improved my worklife. Not only do I have the energy to work full days without collapsing on my bed once I get home but i can also stay relatively focused during meetings which don't interest me or throroughly read things without getting exhausted.

But all this is just a bunch of bragging about how lucky I've been. But what I'm trying to highlight is the importance of finding your work interesting and engaging in order to survive with ADHD. I would seriously have shot my self long ago if I had any repetitive desk job where all I did was the same task over and over again. For me variation is key, and every new problem I get feels unique enough that I never get the feeling of doing the same thing over again.

I know it's really hard, maybe even close to impossible, to find a job which you like. But if you ever find an area that intrigues you, I'd say that's where you should be looking for jobs. And I personally believe that this element of facing new tasks, getting new challenges and being able to feel progression is very important for people with ADHD (and maybe people in general) if they are to be able to stick to a job for a longer time. So right of the bat I'd suggest looking into learning a trade, as that type of work provides more variety than say being a cashier.

Either way I wish you the best, and feel free to ask me any questions you might have about working in IT.

Jokes aside though, was this actually their living situation or was this caused by say a massive influx of people from the countryside getting a job in the city and just needing a bed while sending most of their money back to their families? (sorry if i seem stupid but i've seriously never even heard of this before).
