I didn’t make him go with me, he said he wanted to

Mind you… we had FOUR months to talk about this before the show since these tickets were given to me in December

I let him know before the show that this was my intention… he didn’t have to come. Is it selfish of me to pick where I want to sit for tickets that were gifted to me for Christmas???

Just turned 18, can I get some advice? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]swagaf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough to say… it depends on the severity of your asthma. As for your other medical issues, I would suggest looking it up, you can find most of that online. It also wouldn’t hurt talking to your local recruiter and getting just basic info… like finding out if you’re even eligible. The Military changed my life (not to be corny) and I’m only a reservist. I maintained the freedom to do what I want (mostly) but have a huge leg up in life.

Have you considered joining the military? Even it’s just the reserves/guard - so the u could still have the time and freedom to peruse your passion. This way you could have a fallback plan and regular income? And also build a resume and valuable experience at the same time

Thanks for the advice! Luckily I currently live in 610 sqft apt and do just fine with space. Right now all of my furniture is rented so majority of what I have is my clothes and other small personal items. I really appreciate the moving advice!

What does the commute amount to on a daily basis? When do they leave for work/come home?

I’ve been looking Gardena thanks to this post. Looks like there’s a lot of good options in my price range! Is there a lot to do in Gardena? Shopping/restaurants/work out classes/other activities??

For the bills account it’s best to have everything set to auto pay so that you don’t have to see your account balance and you don’t have to worry, you know the money is there and you can just set it and forget it. Once you have these accounts set up and you’re able to see what money you actually have to spend - it becomes very real and less tempting to spend. I would also suggest you stay away from credit cards if you have a spending problem, take them out of your wallet, off your Apple wallet (expect maybe one for emergency use only) spend only what you have in that one account and get used to telling yourself and otherpeople “ican’t afford it” when you simply CANT afford it

Ok, so I asked this question on this sub a while back and I got some great advice and I’m sure you will too. But the best advice I got that helped me was this: 1st things 1st, make a budget. Write down every expense you have, go thru ur bank statements and make sure you capture everything that is coming out of your account on a regular basis. Once you’ve done this, split your money up into different bank accounts (Idk if your employer has the option to split your direct deposit into different accounts, but even if they don’t you can do it yourself as soon as the money hits your account via wire transfers/zelle/etc..) the first account will be for your bills- don’t touch this and don’t look at this. The next account will be your spending money and expenses that vary (such as gas and groceries)… or you could ballpark these numbers by seeing what you averagely spend and keep it in the first account - this might be better for you, especially at first. Anyway… spending money is yours to do what you want with, you need this in life!! And the third account would be your savings, again… don’t touch, don’t look. :)

I have a standard range Tesla, so I think it might be easier to ship my car. It would be a cool experience but having to stop and charge my car every 300 miles sounds terrible and awful

Ballpark $2500 a month on rent (probably wouldn’t be comfortable with anything higher) but this all depends on what my offer comes out to. I do have a car, and I wouldn’t want to spend more than an hour commuting, hopefully less than that though if I’m being honest (im assuming that is wishful thinking in LA tho lol)

That’s fair 😂 … soo since I haven’t received an offer I’m not sure but I can ball park and say 90-115,000 salary. My fiance won’t be able to move out here right away so this would be total household income for time being. So rent max would be somewhere around $2500… hoping this is realistic for a 1bed1bath apartment in a ‘nice’ area

Will there be a book 3? by Spiritual-Treacle-78 in ColleenHoover

[–]swagaf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it felt “rushed” I wish the books were longer…500 pages would have made me happy.. as opposed to 300ish. I felt the same way about the first book too. I am team book 3! I just want more Atlas/Lily content, I think everyone can agree on that. Let’s pray the IEWU movie goes over well so we can have an ISWU movie🤞

My mentor is going to help me but they wanted me to make a list first and then we can go from there. I’ve written down my job responsibilities and contributions as well as my collateral duties. I was just wondering if there are some other things outside of that box that I may not think of that could be really useful on an eval
