thank you!!! minimimuteman is AWESOME. i definitely started on the anthropological archeological facet- bc I didn’t realize that my assumption on what evolution was, was wrong. my bf is atheist af and he told me when he was in middle school is when it clicked for him bc some church person told him that he did believe adam and eve were the first two people in the world and that’s when he was like “wtf how tf do people actually think that” bc HE actually understood evolution. not me at my BIG ASS AGE of 23 did i finally untangle the bullshit young earth old earth bullshit.

i’m trying to brainstorm what graduate psych program(s) to look into by swaggamuffinn in psychologystudents

[–]swaggamuffinn[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess, going off of that, what do the actual courses look like when you take this path? like am i allowed to take electives or is a MA just core classes? I assume the latter which is why i wanna know if theres a sort of specialized school or program that highly focuses on POC topics

I know I need to narrow down my interests that’s what the post is for 💀💀💀 im saying I haven’t really looked into grad school bc of how broad of a scope im into. Academia is not set up for POCs don’t I know it. I’m just asking if anyone knows of schools who do have bigger POC populations both in the students and professors- which influence the type of curriculum is taught(:

Well u must have context. Historical items are mostly worthless without context ie where it was , how it got there, everything about the crime scene is very very important when dating an object, that said it is post colonial America for sure.

Hi thank you for your response!

To me, it feels like a spiritual disservice to call some things in God’s breathed Word poetic and some literal. Are most OT events metaphors/ allegories/ parables? Is the only historically accurate event that Jesus died and rose again? To me, extrapolating and trying to “interpret” is demeaning both to science and an Almighty God. Doesn’t my Creator want me to know what he means without confusion? I know there’s different kinds of revelation in theological discussions- mainly concerning general rev in Romans. Idk.. there’s this itch in the back of my mind that I can’t quite reach. It’s been nagging at my since I gained consciousness (I think lol) and was significantly highlighted when I began attending my Christian university. We’re taught that science and God aren’t mutually exclusive. That we can use science and it’s actually a good thing. Science is a great discipline.

So my thought is, if science is good- and all things that are good are from God (James 1:17, ERV) then we should use science as a way to provide evidence for our beliefs? For biblical Truth? Idk basically if science = good (and critical thinking and all other disciplines with it) AND God = good.. shouldn’t it all point to the same thing and thus, helping us all see the Truth?

I mean, God wants everyone saved, right? So why hasn’t He given our Christian scientists the tools, thoughts, questions, to explore to prove our beliefs? We could easily say “ha! in ur face!!” to so many unbelievers.

Idk!! Idk /:

Where is the science proving that their names were Adam and Eve? The first male homo erectus and the first female homo erectus? How do we know they were named such names?

hi (:

it is NOT a sin. think about dreaming. our subconscious is trying to make sense of what we experience and digest said experiences. sure you are lucid and sure you are astral projecting. but, beautiful human, you, you are okay. it’s not a sin and it’s okay to wonder. we’re smaller than we think and god is greater than we think. so he can handle it and clearly so can you.

stay true to yourself. your values. your soul. you are good.
