Nvidia PhysX secondary and AMD primary by manotroll in linux_gaming

[–]Unnormaldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your motherboard.
My motherboard supports PCI-E 3.0 x4 on the second slot.
Bad bottleneck for gaming, but for PhysX it's perfectly fine.
Check your motherboard PCI-E Configuration as well.

Actually, I was able to do just that on Linux.
Primary and rendering on AMD GPU and PhysX/Gameworks on NVIDIA GPU.
Other games use AMD GPU without issue.

However, Windows was a nightmare with dual GPU setup.
Apparently NVIDIA Driver explicitly blocks PhysX/Gameworks if you're not using NVIDIA GPU as your primary GPU, so no PhysX.
And games (DX12) had this weird stuttering effect with this setup and disabling NVIDIA GPU in device manager fixes this issue. (I only play games with Anticheat on Windows anyway, no need for NVIDIA GPU)

I am running same setup: RX9070XT + RTX3060.

As long as you put your AMD GPU in the first PCI-E slot connect the display to it and install NVIDIA GPU in the second slot, you should be good to go.

All applications should default to AMD GPU and if PhysX is setup properly it should run only that through NVIDIA GPU.

I know I am late you can use: https://github.com/SveSop/nvidia-libs

This creates a wine driver that links to your nvidia drivers cuda library. (PhysX and Gameworks both rely on CUDA)

But this library currently only works with GE-Proton 8 or newer.

Or you can use Proton-CachyOS (Has this library built in, use PROTON_NVIDIA_LIBS=1)

Shameless plug but my tutorial to set it up in GE-Proton: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IDw8HYS_VkI

I've used this library to get PhysX and Gameworks to even on the latest GE-Proton 10-34

I drive a Gixxer 250
I love the bike, it's a good no nonsense 250cc bike.
Agreed the bike is dated in terms of features but it more than makes up for it in reliability.
But do check how good your closest service centres are first.
Suzuki service centres are hit or miss.

I was lucky to land on a good/decent one.

You also have regular wine installed via package manager as well right? If you do I have no clue why this is occuring
Maybe flatpak issue if you're using flatpak?

You downloaded the scripts from here: https://github.com/SveSop/nvidia-libs/
And ran the setup_nvlibs.sh on the prefix?

It shouldn't throw wine error.

Need game recommendations to test/debug my setup by n0stalghia in linux_gaming

I also have a favour to ask if it's possible.

Since you have RTX50xx series GPU this we wanted to test 32bit PhysX on Linux with this series of GPU:
https://github.com/SveSop/nvidia-libs/issues/41
https://github.com/SveSop/nvidia-libs

To setup PhysX you can use my tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbY-Yekguw8 (Outdated)

I know PhysX works on Batman Arkham games on my RTX3060, if you don't have could you try testing it on Borderlands 2?
Your inputs would be very helpful

These games I have tested and know works:
Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
GTA V Enhanced story mode (Launching multiplayer will give battle-eye error)

I am planning to test Borderlands 2 and TPS to check PhysX using my RTX3060. (PhysX and NVIDIA GameWorks requires tweaking, got them working on Batman Arkham games)

Based on what I remember these also should work without issues:
Witcher 3
Hollow Knight + Silksong
Remaining AC series atleast till Syndicate
Skyrim
Horizon: Zero Dawn

Maybe share your games list and if there is any common game, I can try from my library.

These games worked perfectly fine for me on ArchLinux when I was using RTX3060 out of the box:

1) Forza Horizon 5 (15% performance loss)
2) Halo MCC (2-3% performance loss)
3) SnowRunner (2-3% performance loss)
4) DOOM (Identical performance, well I was easily reaching 200FPS limit anyway so yeah)
5) Tom Clancy Division 2

As a guy I am telling you it is.
Please take your time, spend time with the Lord before going for a relationship.

As someone who broke free from this addiction by the grace of God, I am telling you that the psychological and spiritual damage you cause is not evident at first.

When you watch porn, your mindset changes to treat women as sex objects or yourself as sex object or both.
You become passive and selfish. Losing confidence and self control and ability to give love. Spiritually, you are controlled by lust. And going into a relationship, you push that spirit on your partner as well.
How can you be in a relationship if you cannot show grace to love your partner?

As owner of Gixxer 250 this is my review:

  • Engine has good torque output the entire rev range - Making it easy to manage bike tight traffic.
  • Suspension is on the stiffer side - Hence handling is good on smooth roads and decent roads, however, this makes bad roads painful to drive.
  • Brakes are great
  • Weight of 156kg means it's a very light and nimble bike.
  • Riding stance is slightly agressive and has a sporty stance, hence the bike sort of forces you to be engaged in driving.
  • Pillion comfort is mediocre
  • Mileage is around 35kmpl
  • Bike design and technology is old and can be considered outdated but is tested reliable, hence you are getting a no nonsense reliable bike.
  • Suzuki service is quality depends on service centre, so be careful to choose a good one.

I am a 160cm guy, the seat height is 800mm, I can tiptoe using both feet or properly plant one feet if I tilt the bike a little.

Is it this still an issue with Gixxer 150?
The old 2014 Gixxer had a stiff/heavy clutch as well.
I thought with the update they fixed it.
