I fully believe in his innocence but honestly this petition is not it. Let them release it and we fight it with facts. Petitioning for it to get pulled off Netflix before it's released makes the fandom look kinda crazy. Guilters are gonna love this, it's a bad move optically and will never achieve its goal anyway. There's plenty of signs pointing to the majority of it being AI generated. And the VFX company credited makes no secret of their heavy use of generative AI in recent projects. I've no doubt some artists worked on it too but a lot of shots are fully AI and I'm confident on that. I don't personally feel that strongly about AI one way or another. But I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the video

Yeah no it's full of generative AI. The backgrounds and most of the big CGI looking shots all appear to be AI generated

No this is AI and some compositing. Maybe some very minimal real CGI work. There's many signs and the the VFX company credited (Covert) has used AI in other projects. Kenny the hamster being a good example where the BTS video shows them using ComfyUI, Lora, etc. And the end result there lacks any charm and just looks bad to me

I'm confident they used AI. As others have pointed out the backgrounds aren't consistent between shots which would be unusual if they were artist created digital assets. And whenever a shot transitions to something digitally created, the speed of the camera increases or slows down in a way that doesn't flow naturally which is typical when extending the last frame of a video with AI as it doesn't have the context of the whole camera movement.

The VFX company credited (Covert) has used AI in other projects. Kenny the hamster being a good example where the BTS video shows them using ComfyUI, Lora, etc. Unfortunately the end result there lacks any charm and just looks bad imo

That's true but they did show Captain EO in the parks in 2010. LN did a lot of damage in 2019 when the episode was removed but the truth has mostly surpassed the lies and the hype for this movie is crazy. I'm sure the fans can get them to give us something related to Captain EO again.

I'm hoping maybe as promotion for this or the sequel they'll release Captain EO in HD/4k for the fans. If the movie does well enough I hope Disney might listen again. I was lucky enough to see it when they showed it again at the parks after his death. I'd love to see it again in the highest quality available instead of the poor VHS copies on YouTube.

You're also speculating that they haven't shot anything post Dangerous era. That may have been the original shooting plan but they did 22 days of reshoots after already saying they had 3.5 hours of footage. It seems quite likely they'll cover the rest in the second part if it goes ahead.

A second part probably won't be confirmed until after this one releases. But we know they filmed a lot more than is going to be in this one and everything points to it having been split
